Beaten, shot, and left to die in a shallow grave. Someone wants you dead. But you’re going to have your work cut out if you want to exact revenge. The Mojave Wasteland is a lawless place, where desperados and the just desperate alike brave the harsh deserts, slavers, radioactive beasties and super mutants. Welcome to New Vegas.

Fallout: New Vegas is the sequel to the award-winning Fallout 3, and introduces new locations, factions, monsters and more for you to explore, battle or discover. With an all-new Hardcore mode, Deathclaws won’t be your only worry – the very environment itself will conspire to hurry your end. You’ll have to manage your day-to-day survival as well as your ammo, weapons and armour.

Will you strike it big in New Vegas, or will you buried once again?

Holding out for GOTY/complete edition, but hot regardless.

Has this been fixed yet? As jp11 says upthere it was buggy when it was first released just wondering if its been sorted or whether its still buggy, cheers.
#5
I believe they patched most of the bugs, but I don't have the game, so if anyone could confirm.

I purchased the PS3 version on launch day and my god it was buggy and like Fallout 3 it crashed all the time - I sold it. Recently purchased Fallout 3 GOTY of the Xbox360 and it hasnt crashed once! Hooray. Think its time to purchase New Vegas as the price is just too good to miss. HOT!

There was a massive list of fixes a while ago:

http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/10/new-vegas-patch-available-for-playstation-3-xbox-360-steam-nex/

I was affected by around 10 of these that I noticed, probably more. You'll still see things stuck in scenery and people talking weird, but hey, can't have everything.

Can't have a game in a finished state when it's released and you've paid £40 for it?? All games will have bugs in it that will only be noticed when suddenly played by thousands/millions of people compared to the few hundred who would have developed/tested it but the amount of issues this game had it should have been held back... though saying that it seems many publishers aren't willing to do this so much anymore...

Excellent price for this though, now they've brought it up to the game it should have been when released :D

just spent 3 hours trying to get into this game but finding it slow and cumbersome ;(
#12
Just finished it, still riddled with bugs on the PS3 version even after patches

couldn't even complete it cos of crashing at a certain stage so had to go back to old save and choose a different finish in order to complete game, hot price though

Lol! I traded this game in at Asda a month ago for 32 quid! Great price!

I see they're bringing the best aspects of PC games to home consoles: release a really buggy game & then release several patches later to fix them.

Its worth persevering with. I couldn't get into Fallout 3 at first, left it for a few months before picking it up again. Couldn't put it down the second time I played it . Thought it it was the best game I've ever played. New Vegas is very similar to Fallout 3; still a very good game.

At gamestation too

It still does crash but is quite rare (crashed 4 times in 60 hours of gameplay, and when it did the framerate dropped so it was easy to save before it did and i am still yet to see a bug that makes a quest impossible to complete)

Damn was this instore too? Went in this morning to Game @ Comet in Silverlink retail park and was still priced @ 19.99 just left it and went for Dragon Age Origins for £7.98 minus the £7.50 on my gamecard only had to pay .48p but would have much preferred this just wish they had it priced right when i was in the shop though to be fair the shop looked n00b.

Was priced @ £35 and wasn't sure if i'll like it or not else i would have. Hopefully be a good game my mate's been raving about it for the DS so assuming this will be a million times better.
should have got the ultimate edition.

it's cheaper online. not sure how your friend played it on the ds as it's not been released for it, pc, ps3 and xbox360.

if you do enjoy it and can still find the ultimate edition for around the £20(amazon and play have it for £18 but have availability in weeks rather than days, and mymemory have it for £20.95 and olny 1 left), it'd be prob cheaper to get the ultimate edition rather than getting the awakening expansion and the dlcs off the psn.

Thanks if i like it i'll definately buy the expansion packs :) From looking online seems my friend was playing Dragons quest on the DS rather than this :) Ah well i cant complain much was only 48p to buy :D

Worst thing for me was that my gamesaves were getting corrupted so you could play for a while constantly saving and then find the last 8 saves were all corrupt. So I'm now in the habit of saving and then loading back in the save just so I know its a working save. The fallout games are huge though and you get many tens of hours of gameplay for your cash. Its a fantastic deal for the price they are charging. I've bought games for £20 or more played them a few times maybe a couple of hours in total and completely lost interest and then traded them in for half the money I paid.

Just swam over a river and found an entrance in a cliff face to a lair of deathclaws.

sainsburys where doing it at £29.99 so with my mum's staff discount and a £3 off voucher for the game I had got it for little under £24, £7 more compared to the game/gamestation sale price but not too bad considering I've had it since/not too long after release.

I put in 100 or so hours in fallout 3 but not completed it, been meaning to go back and complete it. can't remember off the top of my head how long I've put in on new vegas so far.
