Just reserved a copy of Family Guy seasons 1-6 at my local Argos for only £19.99 for collection on Wednesday.

I know season 7 is available now but thought this was a really good price for the first 6
Bargain :)

Is available for home delivery but you would have to pay the postage, I don't know if it's available in every store

I think (judging by the picture) its meant to be the Season 7, however, I'm not certain.. Not available in my local area. :x

I have reserved it also for Wednesday,i wonder why it has a picture of season 7 though?
#8
I saw that too but the description definitely says all 6 seasons - hope it's the description that's right!
#9
I'm wondering whether it's worth paying the extra for home delivery, before the price is amended?

I was thinking the same. Although I already have this!!

Great if true, can see all reservations being refused at checkout like a few of the "multi-buy" basket glitches though.

Got one set reserved as you never know , if everyone ONLY gets 1 and not be ebay hungry......

For some reason my email says - The following items were not purchased or reserved ?. and Sorry, currently Out of Stock
#13
the thing is, this can only be reserved for wednesday, so they've got 3 days to notice and change the price. As everybody knows, you pay the price at time of purchase, regardless of how much it was when you reserved it.

I ordered the iTunes vouchers for collection the friday AFTER the deal ended, they checked up what the price was then, and I got them in the deal.

-----

Thanks for placing your order.

Unfortunately, we can't confirm your order at the moment but we'll send you an email shortly (this may take a couple of hours during busy periods).

There's no need to re-submit your order.

Thanks for shopping at argos.co.uk

Is this only me or is it a case of everyone ordering causing a backlog already ?.

I'm surprised, normally they go strictly by the price at time of purchase, because all you ae doing is asking them to reserve one for you. You actually buy it when you pick it up.

Then we will have 3 days to cancel them then :) lol

In the new catalogue, item no 051/0019 (page 1140) says:

Family Guy : Complete set
3 discs. 15 Cert
£19.99

And shows a pic of the season 7 box set

I'm certain that this is what they'll try and pass you off with in store on Wednesday. With it being a DVD too, it's excluded from their 30-day money back guarantee, so it might be worth doing a customer view of the item first in case they kick up a fuss.

It's worth a try though

this should be 16 disks
#25
Not looking hopeful and argos are strict as hell with these
#26
If it is this 3 disk thing and we do end up getting it delivered what are the chances of us getting a full (including delivery costs) refund ?.
Is it as simple as going instore with everything and saying not as advertised and get the full £25+ back ?.
#27
recently i have managed to get argos to stick with the price i reserved them at with the pro power offer on here and also the itunes offer which would also not go through their till properly - as long as you print out the copy of your reservation and when you get to the till and it doesnt come up the same price get the cashier to call the manager over and then they can change it on the till through internet price different category - seen them do it many times now as pro power was buy one get one free online but not on their tills and prices were different too between till and online!! be prepared to fight your case though and make sure you print out reservation!!! worked everytime for me - hope they have not got this deal wrong and it is just series seven!!!
#28
They can't force you to keep an item which is not the one described when you ordered it.

They'll be awkward I imagine as it's excluded from their 30-day guarantee, but you're within your rights to do so due to Distance Selling Regulations.

Going by the number in the catalogue, I don't even think they stock the Season 1-6 boxset, so I would imagine they will only have Season 7 to offer to people.

I was thinking more about delivery costs being refunded.
#31

#32

#34

Too good too be true - exactly. Unfortunately Argos don't even stock the Boxset 1-6. Would love to go for this but just can't be bothered with all the hassle. If you fancy an instore argument, go for it.......you might end up with a goodwill voucher, but no Family Guy.

Well I'lllet you know on Wednesday.

I'm hoping the catalogue is wrong :?

They don't have season 7 on its own online only the boxsets so you never know.

Anyway worth a quick trip to my local store to find out ;-)
