Just got back from Lidl and noticed that they have a 'Feed the Family' type deal for £3.50 in the Weekly Offer leaflet starting on the 11th Jan.

There were 2 choices and they both seemed good value.

Meal Deal 1
Lasagne 1kg @ £2.69 (10 out of 10 - Best Buy) + Garlic Baguettes (2x175g) @ 95p + Sweet & Crunchy Salad 400g @ £1 = £3.50 (Save £1.14)

Meal Deal 2
Fresh Beef Lean Steak Mince 500g @ £2.49 + Tomato Pasta Sauce (Original or Mushrooms) 500ml @ 79p + Spaghetti 500g @ 43p + Garlic or Herb Butter Baguettes (Frozen) 2x175g @ 89p = £3.50 (Save £1.10)

The 2nd Deal seemed the better for me if you're lazy and fancy spaghetti bolognese!

Hope this is of use to others.

carbodelicious!

Their lasagne is the best we've ever bought ... good value in general and have never got sick or anything from it.

We've often invited people over and served up this for dinner and they've loved it too. A lot of people wouldn't normally buy it cause its from Lidls ... their loss ... more for us ;-)

Lasagne is brill havent found anyone who does not like it yet. freezes well so stock up and use salads for lunch

Their Lasagne is lovely.

Great post --heat added --their lasagne tastes much better than Tescos finest (too much gristle)--which would cost you about 6-7 quid . Lidl is the connoisseurs choice :)

great deal. agree about the lasagne, has to be the nicest I've tasted and my mum who never used to buy ready made lasagne hasn't made a single home made one since trying this one!
#12
Totally agree - the best Lasagne I've ever bought

I went to the lidl in East Kilbride and there was no sign of this deal!
#14
I was in my local and they had this deal advertised all over the store. Everywhere the items where for sale it was advertised. Lots of the Lasagne in stock!

Maybe the lasagne is great- don't think I could bring myself to step inside a Lidl. Too many poor people. I'll happily pay more so I don't have to shop with peasants. For the same reasons I avoid Aldi, Farmstores, Poundland, 99p Stores, Poundstretchers, Iceland etc

More money than sense.

Not just peasants shop in lidl and the other shops you mention.
You don't get rich by blowing all you money on the likes of waitrose and M&S.

The discounters are where the savvy shopper goes because they know they can get better quality than buying at the larger supermarkets :thumbsup :

Then why have you posted in the past about going to Poundland for the Cadbury's Clusters deal, or are you one of those people that "say" they would never set foot inside one of these shops to everyone you know (which makes them feel bad if they do) and then go to them anyway !!?

And your an a*se

Its not my fault your a snob.

You will find the likes of lidl and aldi sell better quality products than the large supermarkets.

Both shops are massive in Germany, and they don't put up with c*ap food.

Maybe you should do your homework before trying to belittle people :)

Regardless of what you think where a person chooses to shop and eat has no bearing on the type of person they are.

I could say you have been brainwashed by commercialism, paying for a brand when the cheaper alternatives are often a lot better

Take one example of being savvy (not a cheap skate), poundland sell 2 tubes of colgate toothpaste for a quid the exact same toothpaste is sold in boots for £1.50 a tube, why pay £2 more than you have to because of a wrong perception about a certain shop?

They say a fool and his money are easily parted, it this case I believe thats true :)

Surely that was meant as a sarcastic comment? Why would anyone like that need to be on a deals website then :P

I know what you mean.

I rarely go to the shops in my local area because it is chav city.

I would rather drive to M&S or Morrisons :-D
