At my local Tesco yesterday there was a section displaying meal deals for a family: a main and a side for £5, intended to feed a family of four. Can't see it online this morning.

It's not a massive store, but mains included
- lasgane 1.6kg
- meatballs and pasta

Sides included
- twinpack garlic bread
- cauliflower cheese 600g
- fresh mashed potato 850g
- seasonal veg

I bought a lasagne that's normally £5.00 and cauliflower cheese that'snormally £2.11, so the saving was the same as the cauli for free.

nice find
Bit expensive!
Iceland do large lasagne for £2
2 sticks garlic bread are under a quid
Hardly a meal

Iceland's large lasagne is 1.1kg, Tesco's is 1.6kg
Personally, I find that Iceland's lasagne is a bit sloppy and its bolognese sauce seems to have very little meat; I prefer the Tesco one.

I guess you meant "hardly a deal" rather than "hardly a meal" but either way, for me it's both a meal and a deal!! :)
I bought this meal deal Feb 18th when it arrived the Lasagne was to serve 2 and chips to serve 2 and Bread and Butter Pudd to serve 2
I have been emailing Tesco for an explanation they tell me it was a family meal not for 4 people
Since when has a family been 2?
I now notice the items are to feed 4 preople and they ahve changed it
But I urge anyone who bought it to get on to Tesco Customer Service and complain
I received 2.50 back today but only after I said I would go to Trading Standards :(
