Quite right Evil Noodle ... they will hard sell you and it could end up costing you a fortune. Come to a proper independent photographer like me! ;)

What's the point of going into a studio with your family and spending a good portion of time and energy being told to look this way and that way with you coming out with a single 5" x 7".

There is no way that they will let you out from the post shoot 'consultation' without giving you the full monty hard sell in buying the 'proper' photo's. All very well and good for those that want to / can spend hundreds capturing some family photo's (no doubt good ones)...but if you come out of there with just the 5x7...you'll have withstood subtle accusations of not caring enough for your family for not buying other photos. They'll definetly play on 'what a shame about all the nice photo's that we are just about to delete becuse you've not bought them'.

dont do it!!!! read the small print ~ even worse when you hear the banter at the shoot ~ Be Aware!!

5x7? is this a joke, if there are around 10 family members you have to look them on this print photo with magnifying glass or what? very cold

Get in touch with a local photographer instead, you'll end up with prints just as good if not better without the hard sell and you'll get up front costs so there is no shock. These guys will expect you to part with AT LEAST £300 before you leave.

Good price for the session if you actually want to pay for the extortionate photos and unnatural shots. I wouldn't dream of of charging that much.

They take a deposit from you to secure the sitting, then they hit you with the hardest selling you've ever encountered, playing on guilt and emotional blackmail to get you to pay hundreds of £££ for a photo which you could have done at an independent photographer for half the price! AVOID!!

Cold from me, my Sister "won" a photoshoot with a group like this and they tried to bully her into spending £1000 on 4 photos and a memory stick! She came out feeling awful. I told her she could buy a decent DSLR and a white curtain for that price and get the same result.

Avoid.

My thoughts exactly. Better to get a decent camera and learn to take good pics yourself. That way you end up with years of fantastic portraits rather than getting ripped off.

I have had a similar experience and to be honest I was not happy with the photo of me - it lives in a drawer - I thought that the lighting etc would have been set up to be more flattering and the poses more like in a professional photoshoot? My daughter looks lovely in her photo but once again we felt the pose and set up, props and lighting could have made it so much better. Up to you though - the price seems good if you are prepared to stick to your decision and not be tempted into purchasing expensive packages.
