Weapons Of Choice: Choose from a plethora of weapons to make your way to your primary target. Meet the fight head-on with your machine gun, go berserk with you machete or make stealth kill as a Sniper.

Argh... just a few days back I bought Crysis when someone posted a deal and now this....

Am so tempted.

To Kevlar Engineer, Far Cry 2 is meant to be awesome. The single player game is based in Africa where you have total freedom to explore (I believe) 50km area. PC Gamer gave this a 94%.

Check this real nice trailer:

Reviews so far are extremely positive and the system requirements seem surprisingly acceptable. At £18.99 this is a steal.

Yes, it's gonna be released at the same time on each platform.

Be aware that on PC it comes with SecuROM (like Spore and Bioshock)

This is a deal breaker for me as I dont like services running in the background slowing my PC down, and also there are also reports that it behaves in a similar way to a root kits, even though technically it isnt one) Ill get it on a console platform instead. But good price for those not too worried about SecuROM.

Yeh, its a shame I would have brought this right now if it wasnt for that.. instead Im going to wait it out a bit and see what issues are caused by this. Guess I'll miss this good price, shame.

Another game I just won't buy thanks to overzealous DRM.

Managing installs, begging for new installs if you go over the limit, relying on activation servers to remain up, and all of this with the EXE not present on the retail disc - yes you download the EXE from their activation servers!! Arguably the product is not even on the disc!

And then you have to uninstall every securom game by hand, sometimes using special uninstall tools, before you can reformat your PC. If you've got five or six of these games now, you basically are comitted to spending an hour or two uninstalling software before you can make major changes to your PC, otherwise your software will pretty quickly become useless...

That's to say nothing of if any of these gaming companies go under in these hard financial times. At that point, thank goodness for the pirates - their cracks will be the only tool available to let you play the games you legally purchased!

Sod it all, basically.

At the point at which you start sucking the fun out of an entertainment product, I am going to cease buying them. I mean what's the point of a product designed solely for fun giving you a heap of aggro and responsibility.

Take the game out of the game and it's game OVER.

voted hot

but will not buy,.because of DRM. thanks wild_quinine for explaining.

I might buy it if it comes out on steam.(but i like to have the disc and manual)

The main gripe I have with DRM is that it only impacts the person who legitamately purchased the game ... the pirates get to play a copy without all of the protection rubbish in the first place. You could argue that the pirate copy is the superior version !!!

It just doesn't work - a quick look on PirateBay shows that a cracked version for both PC and 360 is out already, even before the official release date - so what good has all of the ****** DRM done them except for to turn people away from buying the legit copy and seriously consider downloading an "evaluation" version.

I'm another who refuse to buy this game until companies realise that DRM that makes the product worse for legit users is not the way to go.

Yeah well said Wild_quinine and Macdory - its a no go for me, I just cant install that nonsense malware on my PC.

"We have temporarily stopped taking pre orders due to high demand. If you have Pre-Ordered we will dispatch your copy as soon as we receive the product."

Voted hot for the price though.

Yup totally agree and for that reason i won't pay for this product, that doesn't mean i wont be playing it though. On the other hand you have COD4 and COD5 which i will pay for even if i don't end up playing it for very long.

I won't buy it either, where's the sense in annoying your customers and making things easy for the pirates? Still, what can you expect from Ubisoft? They used to us Starforce, which was an even bigger load of garbage. They eventually had to dump it because of all the complaints, so who knows, maybe they'll dump Securom if they get enough aggro. I also don't buy Sony anymore as they own Securom, they're obviously not the quality company I used to think they were.
#21
Its already been cracked and released LOL they seriously need to think about the protection they use and who it benefits.

This is available again. Fast shipping from these guys too.

Pretty cool game - only played a few hours but it really does have immense graphics, even with DX9.
Plays great on a 3870 with everything on high, no AA. Must find more diamonds to buy more weapons!!.....
Kinda fun running over Zebras in Jeeps too :p
