Unless they are a "manufactured" product, then I would think NOT.

Personally, I prefer "lamb" a bit older anyway, but it isn't usually that old, for the obvious reason that it costs more to feed it longer!

Now THESE are probably full of water, etc. The give away being "minted" meaning they are a product that has been processed in some way!

Besides, what a stupid idea, putting something as STRONG as mint on a mild mannered meat like lamb - I really wonder why that mixture was ever dreamed up! Like putting horseradish on Lemon Sole! ;-)[/SIZE]

It probably IS just that then... but not neceessarily but remember the first 10% of water in manufactured meat products generally does NOT have to be declared! So, when a pack of bacon says, "contains not more than 10% added water" in commonsense terms it means contaims not more than 20% water! (It is deemed than SOME water is normal in these sorts of products, so not quite as daft as it sounds!) That does not apply to "joints" of meat as such.
Whatever, the price (if unlike me you like mint!) is pretty good.

I agree that New Zealand meat products are indeed fine, and I rather like NZ lamb myself, especially the chilled version rather than the frozen.
