Farnborough Air Show 2014.
Valid Saturday and Sunday (19th / 20th July).
Code ADSF14 gets you £4 off! (yeh I know not a massive saving but almost 10%).

If anyone can find a deal for less than £42 for a weekend day to this event then please let us know in this thread.

Oh yeh, slight downer, apparently the F35 won't be making an appearance this year after all the hype (pictures of it still displayed proudly on the front of the official website for the event). According to the Pentagon it won't be there.

Guys,
I found a better deal (if you're an AA member - which I am). £38 per ticket, and buy up to 4 at this price.

The F-35 is going to be stillborn, It's massively over budget, bugged to hell and a largely useless project which is on the brink of a death spiral. The hideously expensive and questionable Typhoon is basically the only effective fighter currently in the RAF. We will almost inevitably end up using it as a replacement to the Tornado to save face, when we should in fact be procuring F22's to supplement our Typhoon fleet. So don't get too upset that the F35 cannot fly for more than 3 hours without an engine inspection, your really not missing much.

F22's a joke. They were massacred along with the F35 against Russian fighters. Typhoon's came too late in the game (it's really a 1970's-1980's plane). But is still an exceptional plane esp for air-to-air superiority and can still best the 5th Gen fighters in a dogfight.

Would like to see those Russian planes. Couldn't see any on the list. http://www.farnborough.com/public/Content/Aircraft-1-2-3-4/4/

I'm currently having a fighter jet do loops and barrel rolls above my head. Who needs a ticket?! Just stand at Asda :)

Expensive? Questionable? What's to question, it was designed as a post Cold War air superiority vehicle and has since proved how adaptable it is, in both air to air and air to ground attack roles.

Not many a/c genuinely produce a true 'Wow!' factor at RIAT and the like nowadays, but the sight of a Typhoon taking off in about 500m, and going into a vertical climb with ~10 tons of stores and tanks strapped to it is certainly one of those moments.

Anyone know any Duxford discounts?

There won't be any because although officially a trade show, they didn't get an invite off HMG because of the situation in Ukraine.

Or maybe they were afraid the Russians would take the **** out of the F35 and put off some of their customers. :D

Anybody who's got a ticket with this code, does it state anywhere on it that you work for ADS Farnborough? If so, surely you'll need a membership card to pass security!

I live 5 mins from Fairford so I am lucky enough to have a ringside seat for the air tattoo :) Your right that the Eurofighter appears impressive and its agility is nothing short of astonishing. But as far as post cold war air-superiority goes it fails hard. In an era of stealth it is grossly inferior to the F22 and cost (as a project) the same to procure. Unfortunately because of its lack of stealth it is unable to infiltrate modern SAM governed air space at all but even more of a concern is its relatively short range and inability to stand toe to toe with the latest SU 35 Flanker. It's the best we have got, but in essence its an F15 with modern avionics and control and despite the propaganda is not world beating :(

As for "wow" factor gimme a Vulcan or B1 anyday, or even the Dorito of Death (B2).
