HMV has the STEELBOOK edition (boxset with a metal case) of the Fast & the Furious trilogies for £7.99 with free delivery. The next best price that I can find for the boxset (non-steelbook) is almost £12, and the best price I've seen for the steelbook version of this elsewhere is £14.89 at Sendit, so this is almost half price compared to everywhere else!!

Three revved-up, pedal to the metal action films form the basis of this collection. Includes THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS, 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS and THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS - TOKYO DRIFT.

THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS is a nitro-burning joyride that makes outstanding use of special effects, innovative camera work, and a nonstop throbbing soundtrack. From the opening sequence--a high-speed, high-tech truck robbery--the film never drops below the red line. Roaring along at breakneck speed, Dom (Vin Diesel) and his crew meet on the streets of L.A. each night to show off their high-powered racers. When new guy Brian (Paul Walker) wants to add his fuel to the fire, he can't cough up the cash to race, but offers up his car as collateral. In their tiny jacked compacts, Dom, Brian, and Edwin (Ja Rule) burst into a high-gear race with Brian nearly beating perennial champion Dom. But in the final moments, he loses the race and his car. Brian's debt is quickly cleared, however, when he saves Dom both from the cops and from a potentially violent encounter with Johnny Tran (Rick Yune), a rival gang lord. Dom takes Brian under his wing--a decision that disgusts his gang but delights his sister Mia (Jordana Brewster). The gang never suspects that Brian is not who he seems: he is actually an undercover cop, and though he wishes otherwise, he's there to bust Dom for committing the armed truck robbery witnessed in the opening scenes.

Since moving to Los Angeles Brian O'Connor agrees to go undercover to infiltrate a group of street-racers in exchange for his criminal record to be wiped in 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS. This time he is helped by an agent called Monica and an ex-con called Roman together they must work together to bring down Carter Verone and his gang.

Fleeing troubles at home, a sensitive American rebel finds himself caught up in the exciting world of underground drift racing in Tokyo in THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS - TOKYO DRIFT.

One of the reviews talks about how the user wasn't expecting it to come in a metal case (HMV rarely write "steelbook" on their steelbook items, which is a pain).

Also, the artwork matches the artwork at other stores which say that they're steelbook, and I believe that this artwork is unique to the steelbook:
The Hut
Zavvi
Tesco Entertainment

I ordered Okami from the HMV website expecting it to come with the LE sleeve (was stated all over the order page). But surprise, surprise never came with one. Don't expect much from HMV in regards to exclusive packaging (even when they do state it comes with it).

The catalogue No. at HMV is also the same as the catalogue No of the Steelbook version at SelectCheaper

They also have the normal 3 disc version on their site with a different catalogue No. as well as a 4 disc version which is the same as this one at HMV at £11.99

Wow, thanks for that digging. As I said on the other thread, HMV are a bit silly not describing things properly, as they'd sell much better if they did.

2 bad 2 watch

I also disagree with this product being sold in a metal case, this is just shocking.

It means that copies of these films will be preserved beyond the human race and if ever discovered, we will look like idiots.

so does anyone know if its a steelbook or not?

I refer you to two previous posts which provide undisputable evidence that it is indeed steelbook.

Heh, it's a good deal. The metal-cased DVDs are a real treat, and quite addictively collectible. I've ordered a Back to the Future Steelbook boxset and am really really excited! :)

Still worth putting orders in. HMV are quite good in that, if you order and they don't have in then they'll leave the order for as long as it takes them to get stock, and charge you the price that you agreed to pay...
