Great deal is this, next cheapest is £35.99. Father Ted has to be one of the most underrated comedies of recent times, and definately one of the funniest!

Description
Father Ted is one of those rare sitcoms that defies categorisation--it owes as much to Flann O'Brien and Samuel Beckett as it does to Monty Python--and its blend of satire, character comedy and anarchic surrealism has made it a cult favourite around the world. Exiled to remote Craggy Island, Father Ted shares a house with the breathtakingly stupid Father Dougal Maguire and the constantly inebriated Father Jack, who has a small vocabulary and a taste for furniture polish. Their housekeeper, Mrs Doyle, takes care of them with a never-ending supply of tea and sandwiches: "Go on now, Father, won't you try one? They're diagonal." Together they fight boredom by dressing up as Elvis, startling ducks at the fair and provoking nuns. --Simon Leake

If I was stuck on a desert island with a plasma screen, a DVD player, and (obviously) some kind of power source - I would want Fawlty Towers and Father Ted with me.

They are simple, and there weren't that many of them. But, for some reason, they just hit my 'humour' spot exactly. I could watch them day in, day out.

Don't tell me oi'm still on dat fecking island!?!

I would want a sat nav, a decent motor boat and a horde of nymphonamiacs for a few days just prior to disembarkation.

Where from? I've been after this since it was released and the cheapest i've seen it was £31 @ Zavvi in a managers special, only they had ran out of stock...

I paid £29.99 for this from Amazon just before Christmas. A couple of the less reputable retailers had it at £28 or £29 I believe for a short while at the same time (I preferred Amazon as I believe their customer service is worth the extra pound) but I was watching the price for 3 months prior to purchase and have never seen it anywhere close to £20.
So this is a hot deal in that it is the best current price whilst not exactly an amazing, "boast to all your friends about getting it so cheap" type deal.
It is an absolutely fantastic box set though of a brilliant series. I watched all 5 discs over Christmas and I had almost forgotten how incredibly funny it is. Glad some other people have been reminded, thanks to the OP.
Yes Gaz, it does include the Christmas Special "A Christmassy Ted", it's the last episode of one of the discs - can't remember which disc of the top of my head. There is also a ton of extras including a load of stuff from "Tedfest 2007".
Well worth buying.

"These are small... those are far away"

I'm confused though...

Some places (like PLAY) are saying it's 4 discs. Other places (like CD-WOW) are saying it's 5 discs.
ALso some sites are saying there's only commentaries on series 3, while others say there's ciommentaries on ALL episodes.

Someone must have this, and enlighten me please!

just ordered for my dad's birthday thanks

Joe, hope this finds you enlightened. I have this particular box-set as I mentioned previously. The edition I'm referring to is the box-set with the drawings of the characters on the front as is mentioned in this deal. Not the previous edition which had photos of the actual cast.
I can confirm that it definitely contains FIVE discs, and not FOUR. I believe that the previous edition of the box-set (the one with pictures of the actual actors not drawings on the front) did only contain four discs and also less extras which is where the mix up probably occureed.
Play's description is wrong.
I can also confirm that there is commentary on all 3 series, not just series 3.
To be precise the discs contain:-
Disc 1:- Series 1 Eps 1-6. + Commentary by Graham Linehan & Interview with writers part 1
Disc 2:- Series 2 Eps 1-5 + "A Christmassy Ted" (1 hr long Christmas special) + "Tedfest 2007: A Very Ted Weekend" + Commentary bu Graham Linehan + Biographies & Photo Gallery
Disc 3:- Series 2 Eps 6-10 + Commentary by Graham Linehan + "Comedy Connections" + "Comic Relief - Ted and Dougal" (Comic Relief special) + "Craggy Island Memories"
Disc 4:- Series 3 Eps 1-4 + Commentary by Graham Linehan & Arthur Matthews + "Tedfest 2007 - 2 Tribes Go To War" + Commentary by Fr. Tim Shuttleworth & Fr. Chris Claycee + "Dougal's Sound Effect Gallery"
Disc 5:- Series 3 Eps. 5-8 + Commentary By Graham Linehan & Arthur Matthews + Interview with writers part 2

It is a fantastic box set (only slight flaw might be that the artwork is not to everyone's taste) of a brilliant series. So very, very funny in my opinion.

Hope this helps Joe.
