Best to contact the company first to cancel the subscription and then cancel the DD.
I did this when I took out the Stuff trial sub. All pretty painless.

Order page on website states "Special Father's Day Offer! Try 3 issues for £1 and save 92% continuing every 6 issues at £21.00 by Direct Debit". Am I signing up for 3 issues at £1 and then I can cancel if I don't read it or I am I committed to the first 6 months at £21.00 also?

You are only committing to the first 3 issues for £1.

Just subscribe to the mag. you want and cancel the direct debit after the £1 has been taken. Just ring up to cancel the subscription at the same time you cancel the direct debit. They will continue sending the number of issues you have paid to trial.

I did this with the Stuff trial sub. and no probs.

Go for it my friend.
