Quite rightly considered as one of the true BBC sit com classics, Fawlty Towers gains this definitive three disc complete box set release in attractive slip case design and accompanying eight page specially illustrated viewing notes booklet. Disc one offers up three hours that comprised the six Season One episodes with the option of listening to season director John Howard Davies, whom in my opinion came across as a tad hesitant. The second disc weighs in at about three hours and fourteen minutes in length where Bob Spiers is on hand, should you wish it, as you verbal viewing companion to the six Season Two episodes he directed. For me Bob seemed a much more confident commentary contributor. Undoubtedly what makes this complete title so appealing is the third disc containing a wealth of bonus features unique to this release. Weighing in at about one hundred minutes this features worthy exclusive interviews with John Cleese, Prunella Scales and Andrew Sachs together with rather dry but interesting Torquay Tourist Office extra, outtakes, Cheap Tatty Review and fascinating Easter egg covering the fate of the building used as the hotel in the series. This is a marvellous definitive release that honours the comic genius of this 70s sit com classic in the best possible way.
