how is this a deal?

Perhaps because it saves you money if you are a 3 mobile customer who wants to use their mobile broadband in these Countries when you are visiting!

How can Three do these great things for us for free and the other networks are just trying to grab more money. This is a great deal = HOT

Agree, just patiently waiting for Spain to be added ;-)

I wasn't aware Israel and Switzerland are both part of the EU / EEA.
Both must have joined when I wasn't looking!

kudos for Three taking credit for something the EU is forcing all mobile operators in europe to do anyway (marketing high five):p

Oh yes - that is eactly what I scanned the new list for!

Worked fine for me in Sri Lanka earlier this year using a PAYG SIM and some free Data allowance I had acquired somehow..
I believe 3 have some links or come to agreements with local providers in these countries. Most useful for data.

I know a couple of friends and family that have used this service when abroad (Italy, USA....), and they have said its absolutely wonderful! Voted hot.

Just signed up to 3 and left O2 today... Other providers need to take note from 3's offers

I left O2 for 3, never looked back. (For me) cheaper, better mobile coverage and higher mobile broadband speeds. Kudos to 3.

Remember there's a 30 day delay for sim only customers to be able to use feel at home whereas PAYG can use it straightaway.

* To benefit from Feel At Home, SIM only phone customers must have been with Three for more than 30 days.
If you're on Pay As You Go, all you need to do is convert your credit into an Add-on. You can then use the allowance in any Feel At Home destination.

Just be aware that data is throttled. So don't expect to use it to watch Youtube etc. Still good that they do it. Came in handy in Aus and Hong Kong for me recently.

Agreed. Good for WhatsApp but I wouldn't try Skype or YouTube... Experience from a recent trip to NY

Over 28 days ago so repost is allowed. Also, thought it was more relevant now as the new Countries went 'live' from 1st July.

Duuuhhh!! How is it NOT a deal??

Voted Hot. I already have 3, far better coverage than O2 and a stronger signal

Recently went to Italy a few weeks back and my iPad Mini worked with no issues, I'll be ending my o2 contract and going with 3.

I think o2 call it churnage (where customers leave), well o2 I reckon you need to do something rather BIG to prevent this from happening.

I am sure key to Three's success in this feel at home plan was being the FIRST and currently only UK network to give its customers FULL use of their plan in the USA.
Not only is this groundbreaking, it's a genuinely fantastic incentive to become a Three customer.
I am pretty sure Three would have major inside knowledge in the EU roaming charges being scrapped and is why they haven't pursued making them part of the plan a priority, as they knew they would soon be included too.
But say the EU ruling does happen soon and ALL EU roaming charges go, every other UK network will STILL charge it's customers for calls, texts and data outside the EU, an issue Three have attacked head on, and I think should be applauded and praised for being a pioneer in doing so for a UK network
I have personally used my Three plan in New York and it was fantastic to have the ability and freedom to do so.
Take two mins and check your current networks price for 1mb of data when in a NON EU country......then compare that to what Three's FREE use of your plan is!
No brainer.

Is it always throttled? I used it in Italy and it worked well if there was a good signal. I certainly had a few video calls back home using it...?

I went France on the 2nd July and I phoned 3 customer service. They told me the minutes and texts will be the same as in the UK. Then the guy said your unlimited data will be reduced...

...to 45GB!! That is incredible =D lol
#35
Data as slow as roadkill in the USA, voice ok though - seemed to jump on t-mobile. Still, for calling back home it's a freekin bargain.
#36
I for one appreciate knowing this.
#37
Just gotta love 3

Data in USA was great for me. They do warn that it may be slower, but it was ok for us. Makes such a difference not having to worry about switching roaming off.

I am using it in the US right now, and on AT&T I am getting better speeds than 3 in the UK and O2 (which is rubbish)..Youtube and even spotify!

I used it on a recent trip to Italy. Speed was fine and used Skype no problem.
