I've been looking for a Topup TV Compatible freeview recorder for a while. The Thompson for £80 or so has...issues. What about this for £43.46 + postage?

cheap but only one tuner i think and quite a small drive....the thomo has issues but is better spec'ed and is pretty stable now (and getting better with each update!). Also the 160gb thomo can get got for bargain prices on TUTV's ebay shop.

If you want more details on the thomo and it's problems (and good points!) have a wee look at
http://www.psionet.co.uk/ which gives a slightly more balanced look and opinions from actual users rather than some of the less helpful comments about the box that are floating around :-D

The noise has put me off the Thomson. Forever.

if you want a reeeaaally quiet PVR (like for the bedroom) the the old pace twin is hard to beat....laptop drive and passive cooling is hard to beat :D
