its only paper lol not that expensive to make :)

Also it will be a promotion so they will get the game for next to nought cause no doubt there will be a big ad in there somewhere for the manufacturer. You are not guaranteed to get the game anyway (subject to availability substitute blah blah blah) also by the time you do you won't get £28 from CEX it will have moved on by then

i've done it every year, last year they offered the first game of assassins creed and i sold it for £25.

they wont make a loss, considering they most likely buy the game bulk ~£15-20 each, retailers work on huge profit margins which is why it retails at £30+

Great deal. anybody know if i could cancel the subscription after a year? or do they keep charging unless you let them know. Cheers OP

Great deal just ordered one for myself. Does the game come in normal box or just plastic sleeve?

Also possible further £5 off if you go through Quidco.

If it's anything like when I did this last time the game will be "out of stock" and they'll send you the game months later when it's available for a tenner.

As mentioned on other threads. If its the same. It depends on stock and they can change the game whever they like (To more rubbish game). Other people had loads of problems.

However, if all good. Fantastic deal :)
#21
Do they take the £30 immediately? Or is it split into monthly DDs?
#22
That's a good question.

Do they take the money straightaway?
#25
No the direct debit will be debited in about 3 weeks. mine is the 16th dec for the empire subscription.
#26
I've took the plunge. First payment to be taken on the 22nd December.

Hopefully the game will turn up before Christmas day.

#32
still waiting for my 2 games after a year. what they dont tell you is its low stock, first come first served & you arent guaranteed to get one. good luck.

Cracking deal. Shame me Mrs. wouldn't allow it, even though she loves Assassin's Creed. :/

There have been a lot of annoyed people who've been done on this deal in the past. Can't remember all the crap they've offloaded as "a product of equal value" but I do remember there were vouchers for a discount off a holiday to Ireland, in the past...

That said, I did it a couple years back and got the game just fine.
#35
Great deal, TopCashBack too.
I signed up a few weeks back, and received the game on release day :) Yet to see a magazine.....but, hey, it is now properly free after game and cashback !
#36
Anyone know where I can sell the mag subscription for the £30 and get the game for two quid? :p

indeed... AND it says they reserve the right to replace the game with something of equal or higher value - so technically, you may not even get the game [i.e. if they are out of stock because they got more subscriptions.] - too many caveats for a deal with Empire Mag.
#38
I did this several years ago just before the original Assasins Creed came out and they took nearly 2 months to send the free game and that was only after a lot of e-mails reminding them about it.
I gave the magazine away as I didn't want it but the game worked out cheaper than buying it. Cancelled subscrition just before the year was up and have been bothered with phone calls several time a year ever since asking about re-subscribing.

The website says 'Please allow up to 28 working days from the the release date of 19/11/10 for delivery of your gift'.

Just ordered with the POP Trilogy. To be honest I haven't seen FHM around in a while. Was starting to think it had folded considering how down hill it's gone. Good timing for me, I've just cancelled my superbike sub I took out last Christmas so this will start as the other sub ends. Just hope it's improved since I last bought one!
