Arnold Clark have 50 instock, (maybe less now).

Cancelled Fleet Order,
hence the cheap price!

Just the base model:

Remote Locking
ABS Brakes
Airbag's
CD Player
Power Steering
Body Coded Bumpers
Warranty
Etc, Etc

now i think this is a good price for a brand new car, i.e i know it has a 57 plate on it. but if your above having the latest plate then this is a great deal.
As a 57 plate with 8536 miles is £5488, so why not just get the one that has'nt been used! make sense to me!
Other's with more mile's are about the same (and have 12k, 11k, 10k, on the clock!)

Do people still actually buy Fiat's? They are todays Lada. And for nearly £6k in todays climate? You have to be either stupid or a Fiat fanboi!

Well cold from me.

Evidently they are not being bought if there are 57 plate pre-reg cars still around.

Fiats are OK, at least they have a bit of zing about them. It's the french cars that are the dross.

The Fiat 500 won "The European Car of the Year 2008"... a cabrio/convertible model is due this year, but yes, the Punto has not won any awards since 1995.

I've had five Fiat vehicles since 1991... My 20v Turbo Coupe was one of the best cars I've ever owned (for the price).

Don't vote cold on the brand... vote hot on the price.

57 reg plates run from September 2007 until March 2008 so might not be over a year old, just yet.

brand new punto available for £6390 so for sake of £600 i would rather have another years warranty and a brand new car

"The Corsa shares most of its underpinnings with the Fiat Grande Punto - the legacy of the ill-fated GM-Fiat alliance - but feels more solid and substantial. It also gives a quieter, more comfortable ride."

Quote above from 4car (channel 4) and the corsa's not that bad!

i know it's a 57 plate... but who knows what the truth is. it's something you never seem to get out of a dealer.
but i think it's a good price, and better than paying full price!

heres a story to scrae you away from arnold clark.
i purchased a nissan micra 03, it was 6 months old at the time.
6k on the clock, cost £5.5k. was chuffed with it.
got it home, drove well and then i checked the boot after a nite
of heavy rain... boot was flooded!!!!

cut and long story short it was a previous accident repair they sold me.
turned out it had been a rental car that had been in a rear end crash...
so i was p!ssed of... phoned trading standards, they could do nothing as
i never asked if it had been in a crash!

but it was'nt a cat c or cat d as arnold clark has just taken it back (as it was arnold clark rentals),
fixed it then sold it onto me!

true story, never trusted a car with mileage from AC again!

the only reason i posted this one is because i know the cars are just pre reg and are fine.
but beware a car with mileage.

i've probably put some ppl off the post now, but just thought i'd share my story!

so my rules only new or pre reg cars from AC anything else, take a second glance ppl!
we still have dodge dealers out their!

It's possible it's two years old if it was built two years ago and registered much later in the 57 period. It is also possible it was first registered less than 1 year ago if it was part of a pre-reg at the end of the 57 period (March 2008) to increase the sales figures.

I don't think there are any Dodge dealers in the UK, Dodge are sold through Chrysler dealerships.

My car as been driven for 2 years on all sorts of salt and mud and other stuff. It's been left outside in all weathers and been on ferrys and across river fords. It's still OK though.

These cars stored in fields are covered in gungy stuff to protect then and have their holes plugged up etc. If you can buy any car with a short lead time it's very likely it came out of a field or off an old airfield somewhere. This is not unique to these Fiats by any means and there's no guarantee that the the one that somebody found for £6390 isn't straight out of a field, it probably is.

Personally, I wouldn't buy this car but if you are looking for a Grande Punto then it's worth a look. A spare £600 is a tidy sum.

Oh dear, do people still comment on here without knowing the facts!

Almost 1 year into owning a Fiat 500 and it's without doubt the most fun car I have ever owned....and that includes my beautiful Audi TT.

Still a 3 month wait for the Fiat 500 when buying new, so in "todays climate" Fiat are one of the hottest car manufacturers out there!

Fiat are an great maker of small cars, their engines enploy some of the latest technology, which is why Chrysler have just given them 25% of their company for them to share the secrets!

However, the age of these cars needs a check, either from the date stamp on the seatbelt, or in the back of the ashtray moulding are good ways. If they've been sat around being unused all this time, they'll need recommissioning before use. Chance of flat spots on tyres, duff battery, corroded exhaust, ruined oil, the list goes on. Cars are designed to be driven, not stored. Think I'd prefer to buy one with some mileage, save a little money and put that towards a good warranty!

And Fiat is trying to help Chrysler in their current "dodgy" financial period:

From the "Los Angeles Times" - "Fiat's offer for Chrysler is a nonstarter".

At this rate, I'll increase my Fiat vehicle ownership overall by one more, as I currently have a Chrysler 300c SRT-8 :)

If Fiat is in a position to help out one of the "big three" US manufacturer's it cannot be doing too badly in the current economic climate.

Granted, Fiat owns Ferrari, Maserati, & Alfa Romeo (amongst others) but you don't see that many of these makes the roads, so their own marque must be selling well.

(Only not through sales by Arnold Clark by all accounts)

I have a freind who has 4 fiats in the drive & has nothing but trouble with them badly made unreliable rubbish they always have been & that includes the fiat romeo even worse they should be the company with the slogan the drive of your life because you never forget only regret owning a fiat
#34
Bro has a grande punto and has had no problems so far (only 16 months old) apart from the blipper seems to get through a battery every 2 months or so.

However this deal is not too hot. The 1.2 8v engine used in this deal is not the greatest and makes the car sluggish.

That's a big "drive of their life" if they manage to fit four cars on it!

Makes me wonder why so many were bought if they are "nothing but trouble" though.

Oh dear, a friend of a friend of a friends mate town the pub once told you me thinks....!

My missus has this exact model on an 08 plate, its been faultless. She got a great deal from a local dealer so shop around but for the money and spec its a great car. Not a single issue so far, Its been more reliable than my previous Golf, Z4 and current C30 which all had some kind of issue in the first 6 months, so those who slate fiat really need to look at the new models and realise a lot has changed.
Hell its even suprisingly nice to drive (as long as you turn the girlie button off of course lol).
