should receive mine today from shopto £38:oops:
good deal at £30
Same here, hopefully someone is in too receive it for me. Good deal at that price, will be interesting to see how Pro evo 2009 is, especially after last years shambles of a game. There is a demo today for anyone interested. (sorry don't want to turn this into another fifa v pro evo debate)
I know this has been discussed in other threads, but i'm still undecided about which game to get. For years i was addicted to pro evo, but then konami went and ruined it. I used to spend hours and hours playing the older versions of the game on PS2 (even dumped a gf who complained about how much time i spent on it!). Last years version was awful.
In comparison EA seem to finally be delivering on their annual promises and the game is a lot, lot better. I enjoyed Euro 2008 more than any other fifa i'd tried since the old megadrive version with the isometric camera angle (which at the time i thought was the b******s!).
I swore that i'd never move from pro evo to fifa as pro evo was more realistic and fifa was too arcadey. now things are closer. I'm sick of pro evo's lack of licences, awful music and stale graphical stlye. But it plays a more realistic game of football (well, up until last year it did!). FIFA on the other hand has all the licences, better music, nicer graphics, better commentary and will have player stat updates available on download (this was also rumoured for pro evo but not sure if its actually happening). But, in the past the game doesnt feel as fluid or realistic as that delivered by pro evo.
i can only afford one of these games and am tempted to get fifa purely because its out first! But i'm trying to hold on to read some reviews for both games before taking the plunge. Anyone found any decent reviews for either game? Oh, and has anyone played the pro evo demo (on xbox)????? i believe it was meant to be out today??!?!

There's a good review for FIFA 09 here where it gets 9 out of 10:

not being funny im a reds fan but still wouldnt buy ****** pro evo on that basis...
Pes 09 is not even out yet so it's a bit harsh to diss it at this stage.
I bought fifa last year (my first since it's megadrive version) and after hammmering PES for a few years found my main struggle was the control method, being a old fart I don't like too much change.
Still at this price and with the 10 v 10 option I might have a look.
The blockbuster deal isnt that good is it? I mean you get a ball worth "£9.99" (where??? you cant buy it!), and a few vouchers which reduce their overpriced games to normal prices. This is a far better deal if you dont want gimmics and just want the game As I say - PC World all the way
