Same here, hopefully someone is in too receive it for me. Good deal at that price, will be interesting to see how Pro evo 2009 is, especially after last years shambles of a game. There is a demo today for anyone interested. (sorry don't want to turn this into another fifa v pro evo debate)

I know this has been discussed in other threads, but i'm still undecided about which game to get. For years i was addicted to pro evo, but then konami went and ruined it. I used to spend hours and hours playing the older versions of the game on PS2 (even dumped a gf who complained about how much time i spent on it!). Last years version was awful.

In comparison EA seem to finally be delivering on their annual promises and the game is a lot, lot better. I enjoyed Euro 2008 more than any other fifa i'd tried since the old megadrive version with the isometric camera angle (which at the time i thought was the b******s!).

I swore that i'd never move from pro evo to fifa as pro evo was more realistic and fifa was too arcadey. now things are closer. I'm sick of pro evo's lack of licences, awful music and stale graphical stlye. But it plays a more realistic game of football (well, up until last year it did!). FIFA on the other hand has all the licences, better music, nicer graphics, better commentary and will have player stat updates available on download (this was also rumoured for pro evo but not sure if its actually happening). But, in the past the game doesnt feel as fluid or realistic as that delivered by pro evo.

i can only afford one of these games and am tempted to get fifa purely because its out first! But i'm trying to hold on to read some reviews for both games before taking the plunge. Anyone found any decent reviews for either game? Oh, and has anyone played the pro evo demo (on xbox)????? i believe it was meant to be out today??!?!

There's a good review for FIFA 09 here where it gets 9 out of 10:

Pes 09 is not even out yet so it's a bit harsh to diss it at this stage.

I bought fifa last year (my first since it's megadrive version) and after hammmering PES for a few years found my main struggle was the control method, being a old fart I don't like too much change.

Still at this price and with the 10 v 10 option I might have a look.
#20
The blockbuster deal isnt that good is it? I mean you get a ball worth "£9.99" (where??? you cant buy it!), and a few vouchers which reduce their overpriced games to normal prices. This is a far better deal if you dont want gimmics and just want the game :) As I say - PC World all the way :)
#21
Do'h, ordered this through Argos. Nevermind, still a decent enough price.

I'm an old fart that has played Pro Evo for years too, but I'd have to say that this years fifa demo has impressed me alot. and you can change the button configuration to the same as Pro evo's anyway.

At this price, you can pretty much afford to buy this and trade it in for pro evo at a later date anyway, if fifa turns out to be pap.
#23
going waiting at midnight for this, :)
best deal yet, pc world too far away to save a quid or so on this !
the blockbuster deal was good but that ball ive seen in the pound shop and the games are a fiver more than anywhere else anyway !
#24
spot on ill b there early 4 da rush lol this is very hot hot hot cheers
#25
Yeah I noticed that on the demo although I seemed to struggle to configure it, think I still have the demo so will have another look perhaps.

Still playing PE06 on the 360 mainly, still very popular on line, only prob is my disc is packing in so might have to sniff out another copy, you can get it for a couple of quid these days.

Ok I may sound silly on asking this question but has Fifa 09 Got all the transfers sorted.
Like is Wright Phillips playing for man city and is robiniho aswell?

How about Liverpools new left winger (who is very good I might add)

It all hangs on the trnasfers for me. Even tho ill be making my own players and starting in a naff league anyhows lol

I'm buying it as a late birthday present and ordered from the Hut but it says it hasn't even been despatched yet so have tried to cancel the order. I would have been paying £38 so worth the effort of trying to cancel and buy from Tesco.

Voted hot!!!

i heard they will provide updated player stats and any transfers once a month, so if you're online you're sorted.

Yes you can - every week player stats are updated ... but typical EA, the supscription isnt free.

I'm a pro boy I'm afraid but I just been playing Fifa 09 for a few hours and I'm not convinced. Shooting is bloody impossible, nearly always sales over the bar from distance.

Maybe I just need some more practice, long time since I played Fifa but it just seems over complicated, right stick for keeping shots down etc

Still prob worth 30 notes
#40
Damn, great price. I bought it yesterday for £45 at G-force in glasgow (traded in a few currys games though so it's not so bad). You get a free code for the Adidas live season thing, so you can pick one league to be updated for free (out of italy, spain, germany, england and a few others). No SPL for this feature though so I picked Premiership, brilliant feature. 10v10 is incredible, really really good. I got sent off in my first game though lol.

Got it for the PS3 btw. I've always been a PES man but the times may have changed!!!
