Game looks pretty good not a diehard final fantasy fan but i read that this one was more mainstream so i thought i would give it a try, but been waiting for it to come down below £30

I'm a big rpg fan and was nervous after reading the reviews... The first 15 hours don't do the game justice at all. I've completed the main part and found the story and its characters utterly engrossing and i totally loved the ending.

I'm currently finishing off the missions and extra bits from the 'Gran Pulse' part of the game (about 20 hours in), on hour 61 now and still finding it addictive. The battle system is excellent once the tutorial has passed by. It gets a 9/10 from me, £35 quid well spent.

Hot from me at this price! (it will come down though, FF's always have).

The start is absolute crap - I'm not sure what they were up to. Why don't Square listen to fans?

Anyway, I am rather getting into it now. They should remake FFVII though.

;-)

yes i agree with comment above remake final fantasy 7 (like the tech demo square showed a few years ago).
#6
not impressed with it at all =(

Probably the worst FF game I have ever played. Apart from FFX-2. (OH and FFXII was'nt so hot either).

I thought it was awful also, couldnt quite make it to the 15-20 hours in, gave up and took it back after 8 hours of mundane button mashing. (better things to do with my life) Best price I have seen though so heat left for that.

good but not great game, if you are after a good traditional JRPG for cheap on the 360, hunt out Lost Odyssey! It was created by the same fella as the Final Fantasy games.

Oh BTW this is a good price for FF13!

You are joking surely mate.

I love(d) JRPGs but Lost Odyssey is an exercise in the mundane with a character who might of lived a thousand years of dreams but was actually one boring **** who I couldnt empathise with in any way!

I havent bought FFXIII yet because I have read too much negativity and I havent enjoyed one since FFX.

So glad I saw sense and cancelled my preorder

Hardly any 'good' JRPGS on the 360.

If you are looking for a great JRPG buy Persona 4.

Voted hot!

Lost Odyssey was fantastic, people just had a downer on it because of the tradition turn based battle system.

Im playing thru it at the moment. I must admit to being a bit disapointed with it. Its nothing like the old FF games with the only similarity being the battles and the fact that the items are familiar (phoenix downs, Gil, etc). The game is very linear with endless field battles and no side missions or town wandering. Its been dumbed down so its impossible for idiots to get lost or forget where they should be going. And not even a moogle in sight. It no more of a Role playing game than Phantasy star online without the benefit of playing online.

I would get Star Ocean - The Last Hope if you want more of a traditional JRPG.

PS The aussie voice acting brings out a natural gag reflex in me. Why not leave the original japanese voices with subs?

Its not linear all the way through btw, about 20 hours in you get to gran pulse and it basically says "there you go.. explore, sorry we made you wait so long".
