Debenhams are offering great exchange rates (seem to be at or near the top on http://travelmoney.moneysavingexpert.com/ ) and they will also give you a £5 voucher off a £20 spend that day (grab your b…

The difference between with a Debs card and without was minimal since I only changed a bit and will get a better rate in Turkey!
I changed £50 from pounds into Turkish Lira. Got the best rate going and bought a new suitcase with a fiver off.
I did use the voucher but rate's had changed since I printed it that morning, so rate had dropped but was still the best rate. I checked when I got back home.
HOT from me!
COLD. Got some US dollars changed from euroexchange and they are miles better rates than debenhams even with the card.
Worth noting OP that the £5 off £20 voucher is only valid that day i.e. you need to have something in mind to put it towards.
aye, bit of con like. I swapped GBP for Euros last year, and I had a month to use, this time around is same day which is no use really.
And it looks like the GBP - EUR exchange rate is starting to tank - http://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=GBP&to=EUR&view=1W

After spending two days due to flight delay in turkey i banned my self from entering that piece of **** ever again arrogant greedy people.
There are good massage chairs in
Airport which take euro coin or TL1 coin fr 5 min well worth it so keep some tl coins
I went turkey in May,
Assumed cheaper rates there but I was wrong,
I exchanged £100 here got 400lira
Over there for £100 I was only getting 390 and I must've visited about 20 change shops and banks but that 390 was the best
So it can very

I used Asda travel money n found they offered best rates, others do offer better but you have to buy a minimum set value, with Asda there was no minimum value.
Agreed. If you can, always change cash when there, much better rates
Never get turkish lira here, always a far better rate locally in Turkey, just bring queens head notes and you will be fine.
You'll always get a better rate locally. If need be, change enough sterling to get yourself through the first few hours then change your money in the local Doviz (licensed change office).

Youse can forget the £5 gift card.. I'm still awaiting receipt of mine from May last year.. Terrible us timer service

But if you get insurance now for a trip next year and then have to cancel cos of family illness etc, you're not covered. The single trip just covers you for the period you're away

Not sure what you mean? I have 2, one in Jan and one in Feb, both are covered for the days I travel, if I cancel because of something not in their T&C and not in the time allowed, I think £5 is not a massive sum to loose? Also why would you want Holiday Travel Insurance if you are NOT away?[/quote]

Because say you book and pay for holiday in March now and your granny dies 3 days before you travel or you break your leg or have a heart attack, this insurance wouldn't cover you for cancellation

voted hot for the exchange rate alone
Can I just add that you'll always get a better rate using a 0% fee debit/credit card too, such as Halifax Clarity credit card, Norwich & Peterborough debit card (which I use abroad).

I voted hot but the biggest issue I can see is the fact that people might have to travel a fair way and if you change £100 you only get 1 euro more then you would at thomas cook who are normally the best on the high street.plus a fiver off £20 spend is cheeky.

but what i dont uinderstand is why people vote cold, just dont vote if its not for you, its a good deal(

Not sure you fully understand how HUKD works, if all members use your theory then every single deal posted would be hot. How can you seriously ask people not to vote your deal cold?

Just because you think it is a good deal does not make it a good deal, the members voting decide if it is a good deal because that is my friend how HUKD works....

Well my freind, i've been a HUKD member for 6.5 years, i know exaclty how it works, if its a bad deal vote cold, if its a good deal vote hot, SIMPLES!! :{

Yep thats it, you got it now, well done. I'll ignore your earlier comment then as a simple misunderstanding.

Unfortunately, although that is how it should work, it is rarely the case.

Good deal
they definitely do honour it, used it yesterday and the rate through the link is very competitive too
can you pay for this using Debenhams gift card? I.e. to buy £50 worth of Euros, can you pay £50 using Debenhams gift card as opposed to cash or debit card?
Good if you plan to use the voucher the same day as you exchange your money
Seems good to me thanks. Take note - the £5 voucher is valid for DAY OF PURCHASE only
