Manufacturer's Description

Fujifilm is extremely proud to introduce the FinePix F200EXR, the first camera to feature the revolutionary Super CCD EXR Sensor. Following a long line of award-winning F-series models, the FinePix F200EXR compact camera is breaking new ground in terms of image quality, and and is able to achieve unprecedented levels of detail in difficult low-light conditions.

The Extreme Sensor for the Ultimate Image Quality
Until now it has been impossible to optimise a compact camera for both high resolution and high sensitivity; it was one or the other. However, Super CCD EXR excels at this seemingly impossible task.
Fujifilm's Super CCD EXR

Fujifilm's Super CCD EXR "3 in 1" sensor combines High Resolution,
High Sensitivity and Wide Dynamic Range.

Dynamic Range Priority:
If you have ever seen a pale blue sky turn white in a photograph then you have experienced one of the biggest problems facing all compact digital cameras: limited dynamic range.

Super CCD EXR uses Dual Capture Technology to simultaneously capture two images of the same scene: one taken at high sensitivity and the other at low sensitivity. It then merges the two images to generate a photo with increased (up to 800% higher) Dynamic Range. This broadened tonal capability guarantees exceptional rendition of photos with detail in shadow and highlighted areas.

Signal to Noise Priority:
Boosting sensitivity on conventional sensors has always resulted in increased noise, and efforts to control this noise have meant blurred images and loss of resolution when shooting in low light.

EXR's unique colour filter arrangement means that two side-by-side, same colours pixels are taken together as a single pixel: this Pixel Fusion Technology prevents the generation of false colours caused by conventional pixel binning.

High Resolution Priority:
When you want to achieve the maximum detail possible, and the subject doesn't demand the extra dynamic range provided by Dual Capture Technology or the class leading Signal to Noise performance of Pixel Fusion Technology, Super CCD EXR can be used in HR mode to capture full twelve megapixel images with breathtaking levels of fine detail.

Manual controls or EXR Auto - your choice:
If you require total photographic control, the FinePix F200EXR gives you the ability to manually switch the sensor to one of the three capture modes. Alternatively, the EXR Auto setting will select the optimum settings for exposure; white balance, focal distance,ISO setting and resolution, and switch the EXR sensor mode best suited to the scene being photographed.
EXR Auto ensures every single aspect of the camera is optimised to produce stunning image quality.

Versatile Zoom
The FinePix F200EXR offers a hugely versatile Fujinon 5x wide-angle zoom lens. With razor sharp Fujinon optics to ensure that everything is captured in breathtaking detail, edge to edge, corner to corner. The 28mm wide-angle lens is perfect for capturing sweeping landscapes and large groups of people. The zoom extends to an impressive 140mm, bringing distant subjects much closer to you.

Advanced Feature Set
By combining Super CCD EXR's class-leading high sensitivity and lens-shift stabiliser, the FinePix F2000EXR is able to combat blur caused by both subject movement and camera shake. For perfect portraits, Fujifilm's fast and powerful Face Detection 3.0 technology optimises the camera's settings to ensure faces are captured with perfect focus, colour and exposure. The technology is so clever that is can quickly detect faces at extreme angles, in profile and at 360 degrees.

Conventional cameras often produce washed out flash shots when photographing anything too close to the lens, but the new Super Intelligent Flash system makes it easy to capture bright, clear and natural detail when using flash across the entire 5x zoom range, even in Macro mode.

Film Simulation
Popular with traditional photographers, the FinePix F200EXR gives you the ability to re-create the very distinctive look of film. Featuring five film simulation modes which are modelled on Fujifilm's heritage and much-loved films; each will add a unique look and feel to your photographs, bringing back the good old days!

Big screen viewing
The large, high resolution, 3" LCD screen makes composing and viewing photos fun and easy. From framing shots, to navigating your away around the FinePix F200EXR's many useful technologies, the FinePix F200EXR is a pleasure to use.

Great price for this camera

Seems like a very good price considering it's RRP (although reviews suggest that was a little high anyway)

Don't forget the panasonic lumix FS15 in this price range. It'll be over £10 cheaper and offers very similar features including a 5x wide angle optical zoom (leica lens).

i know it's not in the same price bracket as this camera, but is the Lumix TZ7 still King for HD video/Digi stills in the compact category?

I know this Camera is great at low lighting shots but its movie mode is not up to par.

That said - this is a great price for this camera - which is apparently a cracking all rounder for pics. Heat added.

fantastic camera ...fantastic price

TZ7 still offers the greatest features in a compact yeah. TZ6 if you aren't bothered about HD video recording.

Couple of similar options from olmypus I think but not as feature packed as I remember.

Cheers my good man. Rep added.

Just need that TZ7 price to hit the magic sub £200 now - and for it not to be a grey import ;)

There is a £30 cashback voucher if ordered in December. Should still be able to use it.

The link is via amazon but the claim form is Fuji's

For me the ability of these EXR cameras to take pictures in low light even though it's at 6mp resolution is the stand-out feature of the camera; from all the detail reviews I've read on this camera it's picture quality is outstanding (for a compact). The lack of HD video recording is a pity...

Judging from reviews and images posted the still image quality of this camera at least matches the Panasonic TZ6/7.

Edit: P.S. If you can't wait for the TZ6/7 price to drop the F70EXR is available at £155 or less delivered - probably comprable to the TZ6 (+slimmer/smaller -10x zoom -27mm wide +EXR)

Hmm, I got it for 165.20
Camera + 2 GB SD Card.
code FREENDAY for free nominated delivery.
Hopefully 165.20 - 30 = 135.20 with cashback.
I did not get the quidco track it however :x

I tried entering the code FREENDAY and it didn't allow it for some reason. However, quidco did track at £8.27

I had a TZ5 and recently upgraded to the S200EXR (same sensor), the EXR capabilities of the new sensor are amazing.

I'd still go for the F200 as the F70 uses a smaller chip so the benefits aren't as great.

You're correct the F70 CCD is slightly smaller than the S/F200s (1/1.6 vs 1/1.8) but Fuji have dropped the resolution to 10mp on the F70 so the image quality is nearly on par - it's CCD is still larger than most compact cameras.
The F200 has less than half the optical zoom range of the TZ6/7; the F70 is at least comparable.

If you're a telephoto freak (like me) then the TZ6/7/F70 are ideal - otherwise this is a great deal.

You had to choose the nominated delivery and choose a delivery date, otherwise the code does not work.

See your point, didn't realise there was such a big telephoto advantage with the F70. I just remember after the intitial rave reviews of the F200 and exr system, the F70 ones seemed lukewarm.

I see what you are saying, but that is only if they will honour the promotional codes in addition to the cashback promotion which all depends on what that code is for I guess. I thought it a little bit risky, given that it's Fuji themselves that are retailing it, so went for this one.

With Quidco there's only a couple of quid in it, and you also get the SD card thrown in, which is easily worth 2 quid, and you get to choose your preferred delivery day..

Are you having a laugh. If specs were everything we'd all buy a Bush 1080p lcd screen rather than a Panasonic 720p plasma. But do we?

This deal is amazing!!! This is just as good as the TZ7 but half the price.

Really isn't that good but everyones entitled to their own opinion.

Probably better than the FS15 granted (but that is a great camera).
