A lot of camera for the money.

This really is a cracking peice of kit that is still worth the money for non-enthuisiast's at this price
#3
Seems a very good - deal anyone any comments - very tempted..

If only fuji had longer exposure times for their super-zoom cameras. I have an S5700 at the moment, and would like to have up to 60 seconds of exposure for night-time photography like the equivalent Panasonics.

Any got any recommendations?

[oh and it's a great price for this camera. If I had the money, I'd go for it]
#5
Great price, but personally I'd never buy another camera that takes AA's again.
#6
I have existing Fuji (like this but older model) to me AA is a bonus when giving the camera a hammering' good set of rechargables is far cheaper than camera battery and quicker to charge etc.

My Fuji S5800 just runs and runs on Low Self Discharge Rechargeables.
AAs are one reason I bought it... as I always have rechargeables sitting ready, so never even have to think about it!
Yes a fraction heavier, than a custom battery but cheap convenient and available everywhere.

This deal is red hot!

I got this last week, and it also came with the HD-S2 HDTV Connection Kit which I didn't expect.

Read this before buying, it sums up all the reviews of the camera so far.

http://alatest.co.uk/review-analysis/digital-compact-camera-reviews/fujifilm-finepix-s2000hd/pa3-61734624,147/

Seems to get Moderate to Good reviews with common complaints being:-

Chromatic aberration
Low light performance
Noise
Electronic viewfinder
Badly designed controls

As I posted on the 1500 thread, I have this camera.

It's a superb piece of kit for £135. It will do anything the casual photographer will need it for. I've used it in loads of situations and it's never taken a bad pic. The zoom on it, even the digi zoom when taken steadily, is amazing.

An absolute bargain for £135.

does this take instant photos or does it take time as i hate it when taking pictures and the subject has moved before the picture is taken

"The S2000HD is a surprisingly brisk performer for a super-zoom. It starts up in a little over two seconds, and shuts down again in a bit under three, which is quicker than some compacts. Shot-to-shot time in single shot mode and the highest picture quality setting is approximately two seconds per frame, which is also quite respectable. The S2000HD has five continuous shooting modes. In the normal full-resolution mode it shoots at approximately 1.6 seconds per frame, but there is also a high-speed mode shooting at approximately five frames a second, at a resolution of five megapixels, and an ultra-high-speed mode that is limited to three megapixels but shoots at approximately 10 frames per second. "

As above thought a lot of the professional reviews have concerns about the poor noise on high iso (800+) shots, chormatic aberration and low detail in shots.

really happy with this camera, takes some lovely pictures during the day and takes in colors really well. the zoom is amazing!

in low light, with the subject immediately in front and the flash on it takes good pictures but struggles on scenery/distance

It's been about £155 for a couple of months on various sites. A lot dearer on others.

It's the code that's the key here, I doubt many, if any, retailers will can match this price.

Purchased!

Bargain this guys really is.

Will go alongside my DSLR and wont be worried about damaging this if something happens.

Dam just brought the s1500 about 3 days ago wish i had waited oh well

[SIZE="2"]Just so that everyone knows, the P258BTCC467 code will work with the S200EXR new camera too. That brings the price for the new (not refurbished) camera down to £260 delivered from the list price of £388.26. The same thing applies to the refurbished S200EXR with a price of £247.99 before discount and £229.18 after discount.

In fact, you can fill you basket with a ton of different cameras and the code will provide a discount off each camera:whistling:

You can get a reasonably quick 4gb one for under a tenner now. It really depends on how much you want to spend. I'd recommend you go for the best, not biggest, you can afford, as different cards have different write speeds which can affect the speed of your cam in photo mode.
