Goose down harvesting is from live animal and it's cruel. One should not buy goose down if not declared how the down was harvested (e.g. Ikea only sells down from dead animals).

So you assume the worst unless stated otherwise? If we always assumed the worst we would never buy most clothes or electronics!

Are you sure? Stroking a live bird to remove its moulting feathers sounds a lot less cruel than wringing its neck to pluck it completely:?

You obviously have not seen how it's done. The feathers and down are socked in blood when they are ripped out and the bird is in severe pain. You can choose to be ignorant or get proper information just search google.

Any company selling non-cruel goose down will mention it (as Ikea does).

I was going to buy but definately will not now, and I will be careful buying goose down products in future.

Theres no way I could buy something knowing that its been produced in a cruel and inhumane way, especially if there are alternatives easily available!

What do you mean by "socked" in blood:p

In any event, if down was contaminated by ripping it off the bird, it would be expensive to clean it up and even then it would probably lose most of the properties that make it a useful insulator.

Are you gonna be telling us next that sheep shearing is cruel?

As for searching Google for "proper information":?

FFS!!!:whistling:
