76 tablets for only £5.00

Just been to my local Tesco (Watford Extra) and saw Loads of Finish Quantums on one of there big Displays buy one get one free. I thought the offer was on only the 20's pack one but also saw 38's on the same display which were half price at £5.00.

Took both sets to checkout and the cashier said it's not buy 1 get 1 free so I asked why is it been stacked up on the BOGOF display. So she called her supervisor who said yes it BOGOF as they have had few complaints this morning.

So I have picked up another 10 boxes and only got charged £25

Sure did!! Just don't know where to store them:oops:

So did they scan at BOGOF?

No It didn't scan at BOGOF but due to been displayed on the wrong section they are given it as BOGOF

So they're not actually meant to be BOGOF? Sorry, just confused as to whether they're technically meant to be 2 for a fiver or not - you said supervisor said they were? Was that just because that store had stacked them in the wrong place and they honoured it, or because they should be that price nationwide? If actually 2 for £5, that's really hot, but if you've got to hope they've stacked them wrongly and then argue the case, not quite so good :)
#6
they are not stacked together in my local Tesco but good price for any way for 38
#7
I saw these (box of 30) half that price, but not bogof, so same deal really. I almost bought the lot but after phoning her in doors, the reviews of the quantum tablets said they aren't very good so left them there. Shame really, it wouldn't have needed to buy tablets for years!

Theres a myriad of deals for finish tablets! You need a calculator to work out which is the best deal!
I got 60 regular powerball tablets in a Bogoff for £7 in the end. They don't have the special plastic outers, thats all.

This always confuses me - fine, if you see a good deal then grab a couple, but why do people feel the need to clear the shelves, depriving everyone else and then tripping over a garage full of some random 'bargain' for the next 5 years?!! It's not like deals don't replicate, guys!
#9
so in any other store the 38 boxes are £5, the 20s are £6.61 BOGOF.
This half price and BOGOF only applies to your store until they change the display?

A deal for you, but not actually a deal. As soon as you left the store either:

1. The shelves were empty because they are in your shed now, or
2. The manager got angry and forced someone to move them off the display.

The chances of any other stores replicating this cock up are probably 0.

But good on you for getting a bargain.

Voted Cold as this is a merchandising error in one store and not actually a deal that is storewide:?

They should have been BOGOF thus the reason why they are coming up out of stock online.Just been to the store and gave me two more at half price and BOGOF!!

What does she use?

Just wondering as I'm new to this dishwasher game and have been using quantums so far (which, with no basis for comparison, seem fine to me...)

I like the Fairy ones myself - the little pouch ones with powder and liquid in them. They don't seem to leave a sandy residue on glasses like Finish occasionally do. That said, I'm a tablet tart - I'll buy whatever is cheapest!

I used Finish tablets for years but when we decided to try and cut our shopping bill I tried Tesco Value dw tablets.
IMO they are as good as Finish, just much cheaper.

Finish Tablets are not a Random Bargain. If you have a Dishwasher then you will use them and i have not seen Quantums at this Price Before:thinking: In my opinion this is an Intelligent Person buying in Bulk. If they are all sold out when you get their, well that is Life! This forum though gives you the advantage of knowing to look for it:thumbsup: What would you do if Heinz baked beans were at 10p? Buy just One Tin incase you did'nt leave enough for everyone else:whistling:

Never pay more than 10p tab, bulk up with finish/quality when cheaper.

If you see a new line then check for the old stock going cheap

When there are 50%/100% free the next deal is sometimes a BOGOF and they overlap so stock up again.

I think you need around a 6 month float to make sure you don't run out before the next deal comes in.

The last great deal got them down to 5p each so bought a years worth.

I buy the W5 tabs at Lidl at £3.50 for 40. They clean well and you don't need rinse aid or salt. They are that price all the time so you don't have to bulk buy.

I've just come back from the Watford store. The Half price 38 packs (£5) are still stacked at the end of an aisle with the smaller packs and have a big BOGOF sign in front of the whole lot.

I bought 2 packs, got to the checkout, the scanned without giving any money off. I moaned that they should have been BOGOF and the checkout operator called over her supervisor who quite happily took £5 off my bill.

Rubbish offer, used the £3 off voucher from rinse aid and got 20 for 30p! (just nick voucher from top of rinse aid)

Well.....they are really. There are invariably different offers on at different times, and all I am saying is it seems a bit weird to clear an entire shelf of stock (not to mention a wee bit greedy to deprive everyone else) and be tripping over them for the next 2 years. As for your beans analogy, yes I might buy 4 or even 6 tins, but I wouldn't be hiring a Transit to get the entire shop stock home.....:whistling:

Each to their own , I'd clear the shelf too if I was lucky enough to see any on there in the first place , its not weird , its moneysaving which is the whole purpose of this site.
I recently bought 15 x 4 packs of beans , think they were on offer at 99p for Branston Beans , which are our favourites but for a family of 5 we'd open 2 tins as part of a main meal and for a meal of beans on toast we would open 3 or possibly 4 tins so they wouldnt last as long as you would perhaps expect.

We have a designated utility room which is fitted out a little like the kitchen with wall and floor cabinets so we have plenty of room for storing this kinda thing so its unlikely people would be buying loads of them and putting them somewhere that would mean they would trip over them .... if thats the case then I'm siding with you coz that is weird !!!
