Real Flames + Plasma = Not good.

Not good at all...

Plasma EFFECT - Real flame EFFECT ;-)
A good price, they always make a room look warmer even without the heat turned on.

Can you show a pic of it installed and workingquite tempted by one of these the cheap ones i have seen in pundstretcher etc look aweful when they are on, but if this good then i may go for it.

I was really thinking of purchasing this, but emailed the buys (who was great) about if the heat is pushed away from the wall and it is NOT. So not advisable if you want your nice new TV mounted above.

99% positive its the same one on below link, which is why I asked the question of the seller on ebay about the heat.

the heats got different angles, it dose not blow straight up against the wall so i cant see any problems for having tv above it!!!
#14
Yeah if the heat comes out of the top this will be no good underneath a wall mounted TV. Some of these style ones the heat comes out the bottom and have adjustable angle so heat can be moved away from wall.

"The heat is projected at an angle away from the wall as opposed to straight upward. I therefore don't believe this will affect your television equipment."

...However, I'm not an expert but I did hear from one of those scientist fellas that heat rises and as such it could potentially melt your telly.

Looks like it goes upwards to me.

Also, reading this from the eBay seller: "This wall fire looks superb on any wall the quality of this product is excellant" suggests to me that the seller and the OP are the same person (or had the same English language teacher).

TBH, my wife bought one of these from eBay and it took over a month to get to us, It also comes out a lot from the wall (looks daft). Flame effect is rubbish. There is a spinning light behind a pattern on the back plate of the fire (behind the glass) which is the flame. Nice

So if your thinking of buying one of these, please think twice about it.

These are £39 brand new at my local market - Supahome Brand. They are nothing much more than a glorified fan heater.

Hmm seems a good price! Would be great if any of you guys have it installed at home and could post a pic of it!!! :)

What fruitloop sets up a wall mounted TV above a fire.

Regardless of the immediate heat felt above the heater (ie if you holdd your hand above it) and whether or not that has an immediatee effect on your LCD/Plasma, over time the constant heating then cooling (even if its not intense) will accelerate the life of the electronics. Look up Environmental Stress Screening and thermal cycling.

I agree. What i find strange is that the OP says there are 300+ left when the Ebay listing doesn't say this, only the usual "more than 10 available" ... Strange isn't it ...
