I highly recommend getting one of these or getting an extinguisher from somewhere. I had a fire in my caravan on Tuesday and was scrambling around trying to find an extinguisher. A lot of smoke damage but the extinguisher saved the caravan (and my parents caravan which was parked next to it). Deffo get one, I thought it could never happen to me .........but it did on Tuesday!

Great - well worth a trip to ALDi for just that.

Would you really try and penny pinch on a safety device?

Crazy people.

waste of money if you never have a fire tho!

Fire extinguisher is a very useful thing to have around. One for the car, one for the house methinks!
#8
Brought one of these last year. It seems to be well made.

Luckily, I have not had chance to test it yet!!

I work for a Fire Protection Company and we supply extinguishers to firms, this is a very good deal and the extinguisher is made by kidde (used to be thorn) which is the biggest and best manufactuer of fire extinguishers in the UK.

Are these the fine to have in the car? Would be kept in footwell so might get knocked and banged a bit.

I am assuming that there are are set standards for these fo even a cheap one should be fine?

The 6kg Dry powder from Lidl @ £19.99 they had last week was an absolute bargain! Was an even bigger bargain when they had it @ £12.99 first time round :-D

Do you have any idea how much dragging that around in your car will cost you? Hundreds!

How will it cost hundreds?!
#14
They're pretty heavy things, and petrol isn't cheap - weight is a killer for fuel economy.

I was possibly exaggerating with 'hundreds' as I couldn't be bothered with the complex (ish) maths, but it would add significantly to petrol costs over time.

it only weighs 1kg

It does. I've just realised now.

Of course...I meant hundreds of pence...just to clear up any confusion. Honest.

LOL hundreds of pence...quick thinking:-D

Please don't keep it in the footwell unless it is properly fixed to the panel somehow. Although it only weighs 1kg you don't really want a 1kg missle flying around the car in the event of an accident do you? Preferably fix it somewhere in the boot where it will be easily accessible.

Good advice  a fire extinguisher wouldn't be much use if your car caught fire after a crash and you were unconscious because it had been catapulted onto your head!

doubles up as an excellent road rage weapon to!

Never thought but fat people have to pay more in petrol. No more lifts to fatties from me - "you're walking tubby, you could do with the exercise"
