MS don't mind you taking advantage of other countries pricing but they have been known to ban accounts where people use region switching to get content that is not available in their region.
It probably won't happen in this case as it's coming to the UK store soon but it is in their Ts & Cs.

IMO, it's a bit "meh" anyway - not worth the risk & barely worth a purchase.

Yeah, I've heard of that happening before but never had an issue myself. I think it's more aimed at people region swapping to get games that are free in that region only.

What did you not like about it? I've heard very mixed reviews on this.

Without spoilers, I'll have to be vague...
It starts off very boring (my wife gave up on it after "Day 2") but I plodded on through.
It does get a bit more interesting about an hour in but it falls very flat at the end.
I got the same feeling after playing Gone Home... the "oh... and..." feeling - a story that could have been left untold without any great loss.

Thank for the reply. I've heard a few people say similar things. I'll probably play this through with the wife, if she stays awake!

Depends whether you like these kind of games that are more about environment and a bit spacious in the content department. Walking around the orange glowing woods and exploring is pleasant and story was engaging enough. It is a little slow, and you will need to fill in the gaps with the story as it doesn't give you everything on a plate.

I would say that it is worth a play, but won't blow you away. Not too long either.

Revoult no longer works. Microsoft will only let you use it for the currency/ region you first registered the virtual card with.

i.e. I first bought a game from the Columbian market, using a Columbian address to complete the purchase.

I tried to make an Indian market purchase, with an Indian address - error messages every time from Microsoft explaining that the card can only be used on the market where it was first registered.

I even tried removing the card from my account and re-registering it as an Indian card - no dice. Doesn't work.

Not encountered that issue myself. I have a feeling I have only ever used the Russian market so should be OK, I hope.

I enjoyed Everybody's Gone To The Rapture, Life Is Strange, Journey and most of the Telltale games but I felt that the story on this (and Gone Home) drab and disappointing.

My method is to buy 500 from the Russian Microsoft store using my debit card. Add the 500 points to my Xbox account and go to buy the game, you will be asked to make up the difference and for some reason it will let you use your debit card to do this.Don't know why but it works, done it a couple of times recently.

I'm tempted to pick this up because I really enjoyed it on PC but once you know the story I can't imagine it being that much fun to go through again.

If you haven't played it before definately worth 8quid.

I have Gone Home, but not played it yet. But agree, all the others you have mentioned are better than Firewatch.

There is a new game that came out this week called Virginia, which is a similar style (apparently). Getting good reviews so far and costs £7.99 so may be an interesting alternative.

I bought 500 rubles from the Microsoft store with revolut, added them to my account in the Russia region, tried to make up the difference with my revolut card and got some cross region rejection error!
Now I have 500 rubles in limbo lol

No, it's not that big a game :D
"Day 2" is about 5-10 minutes in.

not falling for this rubbish again! apparently it's like 'gone home', just waiting for something to happen and you end up disappointed at the end. basically paying money to get a load of easy achievements. all this supposed immersive, beautiful graphics rubbish does my head in. just got that 'virginia' game on xb1, nearly finished it and I'm wondering what the hell is going on.

No way Microsoft would ban you for downloading off the Russian store a few weeks earlier than its UK release. When dark souls 3 was obtained a few weeks early in much the same way I don't recall a single ban and that was a massive aaa game.

Have you checked the "ready to install" section on the xbox? Mine showed up there.
