Had a buddy of mine wanting to edit videos on his PC so pointed him in the direction of this bargain I found. He picked it up for £3.60 in store (same price online) and then slammed it straight in!

3 Ports on the face of the card and 1 for connecting to a front-of-case port
Has additional molex connector for more juice if you have multiple Firewire devices connected up.

Their site description leaves a lot the the imagination.

Cheapest i can find is Scan at £7.01 inc VAT

I bought and returned one of these, though not at this price. This card does not conform with the Firewire standard. Instead this Ali-chip based junk uses driver hacks to work. Will not work with Mac OS X and probably not with Linux. For stability's sake, I would not recommend it for Windows, either.

they have many 8 ports cheaper on ebay

Why do you need two instead of one? Why do you need one instead of none?

Some other peripherals use firewire as well like external cd/dvd drives, hard drives etc so it can be handy to have them all plugged in at the same time as you would with USB devices.

Really hope the above post regarding the belkin card is misguided - bought one to replace one in my computer that doesn't work with win2k and later... Wish people would publish their compatibilty!
