Unable to customise and on the picture is a Core 2 Duo icon but its only a Core Duo (Misleading)

I see I should have posted before having breakfast ;-)

Remember to go to the deal and right through to checkout page where the box is for you to enter the code.
Start trying to checkout with the code at a couple of minutes to 10AM and just keep trying till it sticks with the discount in red.
If you get an error at the very last page just keep trying as in the past the servers seem to have got overwhelmed but put the deal through later if you keep at it.
Good luck!

Heres the code: X4N8?$1$QTQ9MG

305-N11645B is the ecode if you wish to use Quidco

My question is, is it worth it? I mean I've seen other similar laptops at this price but I don't know is this good value for money.
Only my 2nd post (only found this site thanks to that A100 malarky)
so I'm not sure if this is a good post for here.

dont dell have to sell with vista?
[mod]#5
If the spec meets your needs then its cheaper than any 6400 in dells line up at the moment and it will also entitle you to apply for Vista Premium via dells Vista pages at a cost of £11 post & packing.
It also has the T2050 (1.60GHz 2MB L2 Cache 533MHz FSB) cpu where the lower end 6400's in the current range now use the T2060(1.6GHz 1MB L2 cashe 533MHz FSB) so it has a better cashe.

I suspect this is a pre built unit that was being used in a Barclaycard promo a couple of months ago so it may well be that there are just 34 units to be sold and will be dispatched very pronto so dont buy thinking you have a couple of days to cancel before dispatch if you change your mind as they may well go out of the door this afternoon.

hello. if you manage to get the discount but dell wont let you pay for it make sure you print off a copy of the page showing your 'basket' with the discount. I did this & emailed dell with my disgust that I was allowed to have the discount but not be able to pay for it & they said that if I faxed them my paperwork, or scanned & emailed it (I didnt save it in my basket) they would honour the price including the discount. The service from dell was brilliant & I now have a dell 521 up & working. may be useful information to you. good luck. shelley

Make sure that you go through the checkout process - entering and then saving your credit card details, prior to actually trying to apply the coupon. At the final stage ( you will be asked to confirm and place your order), go back to your basket and wait till around 9.58 to start trying to apply the coupon. Its best to get your credit card details saved early as it will be the first 34 confirmed orders that will get the comp.

Tits. Would have bought this if I hadn't ordered the Inspiron 1501 last week for £439. As it happens I'm sat here waiting for it to be delivered today.
#12
Got one too :w00t: Kinda makes up for the fiasco with the sodding Toshibas :x
Thanks for the tip off :) thought I'm not sure how much of a good deal I got
#13
Cheers compo, managed to get one too...worked out at £476.33 plus Quidco cashback to come hopefully at 5%, if it tracked OK with all the button pressing !

Whats the deal with upgrading to Vista Home Premium ? How do you do this ?

Thanks

The e-code now comes up with the system priced at £539, not as good £479 but better than the original £599. If you go through the original link it is not available anymore.
[mod]#16
Yep, it was originally a Barclaycard offer at would you believe £749!! if I remember correctly.
The free at the moment delivery is the £60 difference your seeing.

So do you think these are brand new leftovers from this offer ? or returns :-(
[mod]#19
They will be brand new leftovers pre made in November for that promo.

Anyone know (ie MikeT ) ;) how long Dell usually take to order. Has anyone had any expereince of the upgrading process? How painful is it?

Dell mainsite orders will be with you between 5 and 7 working days. This offer had no upgrades other than mouse and bag.
Normal upgrades are within the normal order process so again its 5-7days

Well mine arrived today....26 hours after ordering online....not bad from Ireland to Leeds. Very pleased with service and laptop.
