In Bristol this is available every weekend, and ONLY as a m ticket, you CANT buy it on the bus.
Hi, it this available in Middlesbrough? X
Here in Cornwall the offer is for £20!!
On First Manchester buses five of you get on with a shopping receipt you're sorted . Revenue is not taken seriously : even pensioner pass holders just 'pat their chest' instead of showing the bus pass : driver's don't care & their bosses even less
it's a great deal, no need to buy in advance.

I'm a bit confused. So it's like a day travel card for all of Glasgow? So it's not this price for London to Glasgow?

You're right to be confused.

Its Glasgow to New York return for 2.

Ta for this.
Don't forget many years ago they ripped out a very good train route that this busway appears to follow and it wasn't long since the last of the bridges was demolished too!
Made my Dad laugh when they reinstated all they have!!

Made my Dad laugh when they reinstated all they have!!
The one from St Ives in Cambridgeshire travelling to the city centre & beyond is utter garbage, overpriced rubbish, massively limited, temporary infrastructure (portable buildings for loo's) regular crashes by "misguided" buses, folk getting vehicles stuck on it (closing the system down) flooding, contractors & contractee's sueing each other "free car parking (nope), hit & miss whether you can take a bike on board, even then it has to be a folding variety ...BIG white elephant!

You end up paying a premium to use the service, many folk are better off taking the car ...I'm sad to say

(plus you cannot tell where the hell your stop is coming back at night) ..this was all put along a defunct rail line, & has been such a "success" that on the other side of Cambridge (ripe for expansion) they are installing train tracks for connection to the city).

Good luck with your white elephant
And don't forget you have to live along the misguided route for the journey to be reduced in time from previous journey to Manchester or you could use your car/catch a bus to get you to guided bus stop - tell me again why this is a good idea passed at a high governmental level.....??
Don't forget to wave at me whilst I'm stuck getting home from a night shift on the East Lancs! :3

park and ride is usually cheaper from memory and doesn't stop along the route
Just looked on my phone and you are correct. Tickets are available for York but it seems only First day, week, month or Student.

It seems to vary from place to place.
bestyman
In Leeds the First bus single tickets definitely last for 12 months, although the first day tickets do only last 3 months.

When I say all areas, they were many First bus areas to choose from which are:
Aberdeen, Bath and Bristol, Berkshire, Bradford, Buses of Somerset, Calderdale and Huddersfield,Devon, Doncaster,Dorset, Glasgow shuttle, Greater Glasgow, Greater Manchester, Hampshire, Ipswich,Kernow, Leeds, Leicester,North and Mid Essex, Heathrow Railair, Rotherham, Sheffield, South Essex, The Potteries ( where is that?), Universty of east Anglia, Worcester and Hereford and York.

Haven't downloaded the app but according to the site does NOT include York. No option in the list of available tickets to purchase these.
It's only for student buses in Bath at the mo in the Bath / Bristol area (as far as I can see). Shame as it seems a great idea, but not voting either way as I can't use it. Hopefully we will see it on all buses soon! :)
A first day saver in greater manchester and surrounding areas is only £4 so no saving there for this !

First Bus night all day £3.00 from 7PM - 4:30am

Unlimited travel from 7pm to 4.30am on first buses might be national, seen in Bristol. Thought was pretty decent to save on expensive taxi fares.

Not worth it as my buses don't run late and first bus home is 630am!
Monthly tickets weren't accepted on the old contracted night buses (which don't run any more?). They're accepted on all currently run by First, that's if you have a First Bristol pass... e.g., accepted on 24/7 75 service, and late night 73s. There's a page on their site that lists all the night services.

This has been the normal price, for quite a while, though. Remember: if you're only travelling one way, over six miles (£3.50), after 7pm it is cheaper to get a night ticket.

Edit: here's the link http://www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/bristol_bath/journey_planning/nightbus/. The N47 (Yate / Chipping Sodbury) is operated on behalf of South Glos. Council, and isn't part of the standard fares.

Edited By: wave on Oct 10, 2014 23:51
Thought this was standard in Brizzle. Same price applies for weekday off peak too, although the buses don't run as late. First Day is better value for the time - £4 for unlimited travel at peak and off peak times I believe.
Good old Bristle buses, I've voted hot as a fellow bristolian bus user
There are buses after 7pm? oO

HOW?! I spent £30 this week on a First Week Essex bus ticket, ridiculous prices in this area on all public transport for some reason.

Didn't you hear, Scottish people are tight, if it weren't for cheap bus fates, they would walk everywhere ;)
Last comment, no doubt someone from England as they would know about being tight, they don't even have pockets in their trousers so don't carry money, from a Scottish female who is very generous as I keep paying out for English friends
I got mine at 8am this morning, the ticket is pre-printed and runs from today till midnight Sunday 2nd June. You cant choose what week you want. No need for photo. Great deal. Heres hoping it stops raining long enough to enjoy it!!
It isnt a simplified service, they have closed the garage at Cumbernauld and ended many of the services. Cost cutting, pure and simple.

£4 is good price though.

Tried using voucher in Bradford, the driver said it was a photocopy refused to scan it.
Thanks got one whilst I was in Yorkshire visiting family.

Showed the voucher to the bus driver on the first bus - He said he hadn't seen one before so just get it on my next bus. On the bus home different driver - Exactly the same.

cool deal but not near me! :(

Bus fares are expensive, it really gets on my nerves people who know i have no car, who see me walk in the same direction as them, and beep, or dont beep, one neighbour saw me, stalled the car right in front of me, restarted the car, and drove off!, they knew where i was going, as its a road that only went to one place! :|

next time where a sign saying where your going and put your hand out with 1 thumb up... :D worth a try

I have connected to and used the free stagecoach wifi whilst a passenger in a car behind a bus in Sheffield.
It does work but only really if you are very close to it 1 - 2 cars behind. As I have good 3g signal I don't think I would bother again.
It's not in all the buses but it is on the Glasgow -East Kilbride 66 bus

I like who posted this as its my company that provides wifi for these buses and coaches

your company must be struggling if your surfing this site for deals on free wi-fi

i dont use the free WiFi and the company is do really well. we can only supply wifi to company that want it but its growing and will soon be on every bus and train. we supply it to all over the world
Been on the greyhound coaches around south wales for over a year, and yes you can pick up the signal if stuck behind the bus at a roundabout or traffic lights

I'm an employee of the First free bus ticket promotion and the main aim of the campaign is to get people using the bus rather than cars.

You have the option to opt out of being informed of future offers and promotions and if you select this option your data is disregarded and you won't be contacted by First Bus or any third parties. This is in compliance with data protection laws.

Hope this helps.
Its not running in my area, and they have just put their fares up again where i live. Good for people that live in the areas specified tho :)
bobbyt64;8735968
We had a similar promo like this a few weeks back and only a small amount of people qualified. It seemed that they were happy to take your personal details, without letting you have the free travel. Sorry, but once bitten.....

I got a free ticket! juut input that you always use your car when travelling and that you never use the bus!
Hope that helps those who want a free ticket!

If you live in the city centre can you not just walk home ?

I could, but I'll be walking from Bishopbriggs. Might just have to! I know there won't be much demand for people travelling to the centre, so fair dos, I suppose!

Just disappointed because there was a service going to and from last year.
Great for those living in the sticks!
