if you choose to call this a meal it's a reasonable deal, personally would rather go to the supermarket and buy some battered fish and make my own chips at home.
#2
£3.20 and cheap drink for rest of day - sounds like a plan :)
#3

Good deal, would be even better if you could swap the cup of tea for a pint of beer :)

If you worry about such things, then perhaps I would recommend SSRIs for the OCD, perhaps some desensitising cognitive therapy too? :whistling:

I would suggest that eating out is a hit and miss affair anywhere from Michelin 3 stars to greasy spoons, and such a thing is just as likely in any place you could mention, after all, the catering industry is universally staffed by low paid workers in lousy conditions so it is a lottery how they are going to handle food when youa re not looking. Perhaps why, after donkey's years of enforcing Food Hygeine in catering and other places, I treat eating out as a very over-rated pastime, and (even though now in reduced financial circumstances, means I can't afford to eat out much anyway), I prefer to eat IN a lot more than I eat OUT, but I try not to get too paranoid about it either!

I don't have to base my opinions on one silly tv programme made by a journalist with an axe to grind and fame to seek, it was my full time business for over 20 years!

If you go to the one at ocean village Southampton you get a further 20% off your meal if you show a cinema stub from the cinema next door :)

I reckon you want to leave him/her alone. He/she seems to speak a lot more sense than you. You can't guarantee what you are going to get...it depends on the staff. I've been to some great Wetherspoons (in particular the Opera House in Tonbridge Wells) and some pretty dire ones (The Wrong Un in Bexleyheath)...so it depends where you go...

Cups of Tea & Weatherspoons. First time I've seen these in the same sentence !!!
#22
Whetherspoons is a great place but is let down by one vital shortcoming, in my view. Their chips are the worst I have ever tasted.
#23
what's Whetherspoons? ;-)

Or maybe I should ask the OP what on earth weatherspoons are? Do they help to predict the weather? :-D

only teasing.
#24
Always found it a good deal if you're out and about and on a budget.

As others have said this deal has been on for ages and having taken advantage of it several times at their Bridport pub,i have to say it is excellent value and have no complaints about the quality of any of their meals that we have tried from their menus.

I'm afraid that when a post like this comes up the gastronomic snobs start jumping all over it,quite often with out any experience of the outlets.

There you go,had my say, fire away!
#26
bet its grim and about as fresh as a squators socks

2-5pm. Don't any of you go to work? :)

Is that including or excluding those who are wealthy enough with independent means who don't work, those between jobs, or those too disabled as well as those so old they are retired, let alone those on shift work or at home looking after children or ill people? Or does that only include those in your categories of who you think should be at work or not?

More relevant questions - is it any of your business what time people have free, or what they do, and what relevance has it to this thread? :-(

I'd suggest the beer and burger above this. Not only does it nicely avoid the cup of tea, but you get a prime lump of zebu for your trouble. yum.

actually, maybe stick to the veggie burger, probably safer :-/
