My wife Barb went along to this plaice but opted to kipper soles out of the tank, instead she decided to perch on the edge and sit in it so they could clean herring because it smelt. She said it was brill.

Got to be cold.

Who would want to put their feet in the same water that in all likely hood hundred of other (possibly skanky people) have, to be cleaned by fish that have also chewed on other peoples feet?

When I walked past one of these places in wanted to heave!! You couldn't pay me to use one

Saw a woman getting this the other day, the fish weren't interested in her feet so she had actually paid £10 to put her feet in cold water for 10 mins. Some people really will buy anything!

Unless they're using piranhas they're gonna struggle to get my feet nice and soft in anything under a 48 hour session.

If one were to believe in karma, how bad would one have to be in a previous life to end up as a fish, eating the dead skin from people's feet?

was going have fish + chips for tea tonight put me right off though

I like looking at the idiots that use these in the shopping center. I'm pretty sure it does nothing except make you look foolish.

Sorry to be a damp squib but if you considering this deal would advise you read the below article first. By all means a case of don't beleive all you read but still sure a few more folk would think twice if they read this first!

Fish pedicures could spread HIV, says UAE Ministry of Health

Do they actually use the same fish?. They have this here (i think) and i just wonder why the fish eat the skin......... and wont they get full up?. Yuck, and do they use the same fish?. Its just because fish just dont eat skin do they, that would just be weird, they eat little green plant things in the sea, i forget the name :D

Ive tried this aboard, it was a weird experience, I was quite reluctant to put my feet in first but then went for it lol, its great to do with a few friends, feels like a jacuzzi type vibration on your feet. They make you clean your feet throughly first and check for any cuts and sores etc before you put your feet into the tank, it is the same fish, they dont change the fish for every user.

I see these things in the shopping centre and think it's a brilliant business investment. People are actually paying you to feed your fish.

The fish dont really remove dead skin so as a pedicure its a waste of time; ok for relaxation and its fun but personally I wouldnt go again. These places will all be gone in 6 months IMHO

I took OH today and had it done as a treat, he was very sceptical but actually was quite therapeutic.

The water is filtered so u do not put your feet in water that everyone has used!

My feet felt lovely afterwards and a normal pedicure is usually more money

chip off the old block then?

From the FAQ section of the Dr SpaFish website:

Q Are there any health issues associated with DrSpaFish?

e.g. passing bacteria/disease from one person to another.

A No. The tanks are fitted with UV light filters. The risks are no different to going to the swimming baths. The fish cannot transmit diseases. The water that the treatments are provided in is constantly replaced, so there is no chance for disease to be transmitted through the water.

Had this done in Thailand after a couple of weeks of walking around and got to say I loved it. Was only about £4 for 25mins over there though.

u couldnt have watched it all, as you clean yr feet first

What do you clean them in? Is it antibacterial in any way, and if so doesn't that poison the fish?
