The disadvantage Fisher Price has is that they are only known in this country for making children's toys. I would be quite dubious about buying this product over a brand that's main focus is child safety.

Fisher price car seats are made by Britax..
#3
This is the Britax Freeway just branded as Fisher Price.

Great carseat for a great price.

This would be of particular interest to anyone who wants to take a carseat on board a plane for their lo as this is one of the few that has CAA approval.

Pretty good price for sure. (Please don't tell my wife!!) Fisher Price is definitely Britax with a different brand label.

BTW - Don't get conned too easily by brand names... I'd go for this even if it were a lesser or no named product. It meets with required standards and looks the job too so why not? 'Cause it cost's more is it better?

Do a course in marketing, it will open your eyes to the way people get manipulated into buying things ... :p

(Let's not get into how hotukdeals manipulates me already :w00t: )

You also need to remember that not all car seats fit all cars.

If this is the same as the freeway, I'd nip to Toys R Us, Mothercare or Halfords & get one tested in your car first.

Unless you happen to live in Stevenage this offer is pot luck! Looks like it's an end of line special. Tried Newbury, Reading, Abingdon... Still going... A nice lady at Reading store was able to give me the barcode: 5012124045299. Going back to customer services now (they couldn't search for non-food items at stores!) to see if they can find it with the code. Happy hunting!

The standards are a minimum baseline, meeting them isn't saying its every bit as safe as other seats.

My boy spends a day with the in-laws, and they have a £20 seat from Argos which meets all the standards, but there's no way on earth it's as safe as the Brittax Eclipse that is in my car. If they do anything other than potter around the village in their car I put that in their car - there's no way I'd risk a motorway pile up with him just protected by that flimsy piece of polystyreen.
