Tbh, most gyms dont charge an admin or joining fee, they just say "no admin or joining fee" but never charged it in the first place

But the thing to look out for with any of these guys is the monthly charge and especially the minimum joining period and the times and terms under which you can cease your membership.

Do any of these gyms offer a PAYG option?

I know these guys used to. I'm sure if they want your business they'll be able to arrange something with you

I lived in spain for a couple of years and came back for 2 weeks and wanted to keep up my gym work and asked a few, in the end David Lloyd health center in Brum let me pay when i wanted to go, not much either, not sure if they are nationwide though, i thinks its a matter of asking, some money is better than no money at the moment,

I joined Fitness First a couple of months ago after a free day trial. I was offered membership at £35 per month! I said I couldn't afford that and explained I work parttime so only need it for 2 mornings per week. After a bit of haggling I got it for £21.50 per month, on what they called a weekend rate that I could use mid week :? This gives me 2 mornings from 9 till 1 to use all the fitness equipment, classes and sauna etc, free drinks and free dvd rental. They also offered me 3 months free sessions with a trainer providing me with a workout plan etc, which they say normally cost £30! hope this helps someone.
