some polythene sheets on the side and you have got yourself a very cheap conservatory

That doesn't look as if it would last two minutes in some of the gales we get up here in Scotland. It looks far too flimsy. In the first storm it would be ripped apart and disappear across the sea.

agreed. i don't think it would be a long term purchase but at that price if it lasts the summer it's ok

i cant believe that something that is £170 has not been built to withstand a little gale, I think it would be very strong and durable, depending on the person that fitted it though, rather than the item itself

I had a gazebo like this, same colour and style and everything! I got 2 yrs out of it, then it rusted at the joints and just fell to bits. I will be making one outta timber soon, probably for a similar price too.

The price is set at the level people will purchase the item at, it does not denote quality.

In fact the one you found is smaller:

3m x 3 m = 9 m2
3.5m x 2.5m = 8.75 m2

I suppose it's not a bad price though if you only expect it to last a couple of years or so. I didn't vote as it could be a good deal for those just wanting something temporary.

I was thinking about a timber one too, are you going to get a kit one or completely diy, where do you get the ideas from ? thanks
#15
Hi yes we to thinking of building one, any advice or suggestions please.
#16
You can buy kits in wood
#17
deanos
You can buy kits in wood

but they normally cost hundreds and require much stronger foundations, I wonder how can you get one installed for less than £100
#18
You can but the wood for under £100 and DIY but you would need to be pretty good at joinery to make it look good.
#19
these things really block out the light and defeat the purpose of have lovely large patio doors

i wonder if it was made out of a transparent material whether it would look dodgy
#20
i keep coming back to this, i cant make my mind up but a nice spot all the same
#21
Aren't TJ Hughes on death watch?
#22
it can be found cheaper elsewhere if in doubt
use google products to find

Bought one 2 weeks ago. Looked good. Canvas a bit flimsey so I soursed a better quality fabric and was going to replace it. Got up this morning and the wind had demolished it. Glad I did not pay full price. Not a good buy.
#24
apparently the material is removable, not sure how easily, but if typhoons are forecast ---
#25
these have been reduced to 39.99 in tjhughes now that there closing and all the sales are kicking in.
