The motor on my Dyson failed the other day. I figured I was into a hole for £40+ for a new motor, £12+ for a post-motor filter, plus carriage and packing. I didn't think I'd see much change out of £60, plus having to spend an evening fighting the machine.
Discovered that Dyson offer fixed price servicing, including all bits - even filters - with a 12 month warranty for £65.
Filled out the online form on Thursday, they phoned on Friday morning and arranged an appointment for the following Monday.
The guy showed up on Monday at about 10.
He replaced the motor and post-motor filter, which I knew were (technical term) knackered.
He also replaced the clutch assembly, fitted a new drive belt, pre-motor housing and filter, and a complete new cyclone assembly to boot!
Looked on some of the el-cheapo spares websites and, for my £65, I have been supplied about 130 quid's worth of bits, fitted for free and guaranteed for a year.
I think that's pretty hot, even if no-one else does.
