Just bear in mind that this uses the Frontier Silicon internet radio portal. I have found that this is faster but lacks some of the features of Reciva. You can still listen again to BBC etc. but - for example - there is no way to display the metadata showing the track details. And using it with a NAS or listening to LAST FM do not seem to be possible.

You should also consider the portable PICO version of this set if you think battery powered independence would be useful. This latest version has increased the off mains time to several hours.

I have little use for DAB radio myself - only of value if you can't get online somewhere.

32inch **PLASMA** TV LG 32PG6000 £439.00

27
As far as I am aware this is the only 32" PLASMA on the market. Not all of us want a TV that dominates the room. Plasma kicks LCD's ass for black depth and movement amongst other things. Here's the…

And people buy HDTV's for their energy saving potential over picture quality don't they ;-)

You also need to remember Plasma power usage isn't a constant figure like LCD with it's always on backlight. Plasma power usage will vary depending on the brightness of image being displayed/contrast level etc.. that 270w max figure is likely to be substantially lower in actual use.

Steve650 - I hope this helps with the ongoing power consumption debate. I have one of these televisions and out of interest I logged the power used over 5 hours viewing one evening at 0.43 kW. The power used varies from a black screen at 49W to a bright white screen at 240W, and is usually around 120W. The picture quality is superb and the sound is good enough for me. It seems that my plasma screen TV is costing less to run than the equivalent size LCD, which is a bit of a surprise!
grannie_mac;2976652
Actually it ain't a myth!

Plasma's have done well to bring down the power consumption levels but they aren't the same across the whole board as you appear to be making out!

The LG 32PG6000 (plasma in this thread) consumes 270w, whereas the 32" LCD equivalent 32LG6000, consumes 160w.

LCD whether you want to realise it or not will save you far more in electricity costs than a Plasma will!

Uridium;2976394
Another Plasma myth.

Modern Plasma's now use virtually the same as a modern LCD.

Just one of many sources http://www.digitalartsonline.co.uk/features/index.cfm?featureid=1378

I've got one. The manual says 150w.
C'mon, guys! Let's put the strife aside for a moment, please, to guide a 'newbie' to all this.

I'm rather interested in this product but, as I receive ONLY a satellite tx. presently via BSkyB ( no terrestrial ), and expect to say 'Bye, bye!' to my Sky subscription within a day or two, but keeping the box and dish, am wondering about which way to jump in respect of Freeview options.
What will I need? What will I get? What might I be disappointed about?

I note that the LG brochure suggests that a USB port is available for the 32" PG6000, shown clearly in the diagram-rear, while the list of components/services suggests otherwise. Which is right?

I note the Deal Price shown above differs from the mentioned company's price. Any ways to reduce that - via 'cashback' sites, perhaps?

How do you know its a very good tv? Have you got this TV?
I am from AVForums, and I had an LG Plasma. I didnt believe people and said that they were snobs...but unfortunately they were right. It suffered from red sparkles badly.
And the funny thing.. I went to California this month. Went to 2 hotels with a plasma in the room. Both were LG..and both were plagued with red and green sparkles.

I wouldnt buy an LG myself...and if I did..it would HAVE to have extended warranty.

I've got 2 LGs, no problems at all.

If you are an AV Forums member you'll know that people have issues with Pannys, Samsungs, Sonys and even the sainted Kuro so reports of issues with LGs is not front page news. An awful lot of issues are user-related in any event so caveat emptor regarding forum reviews and opinions - yours and mine included:-D

Nevertheless, this is a very good TV - no question!

I'd like the 42" version of this set but really can't justify replacing my current 42" set, which is giving really great pictures from Sky and SD-DVD. The 50" set I have is too good to replace as well. HD-DVD, PS3, XBOX360 and a PC feed all handled really well.

I might just get the 32" for the bedroom:thumbsup:

Cobblers.

Utter, utter cobblers!!!

Most of the LG plasma issues on AV Forums are posted by people who don't know their ars*e from their elbow:p

This is a very good TV:thumbsup:

A screen that size really should be 1080p.

That being said, this is quite cheap.

Hi,
Dont get confused..the PX7 is not as good as the PX70.
The PX70 is £779 at Dixons (use code AW20 to get £20 off the £799 price).
http://www.dixons.co.uk/product.php?sku=737230
It doesnt have a stand though, so you would either need to wall mount, or source elsewhere..
Although, you can get it for £829 at Dixons (use aw20 for £20 off)

is this any different to a xbox 360 as that can stream too, how about the ps3 isnt this in the same category/

If you already have a 360 or PS3 hooked up to your TV then there wouldn't be much use getting one of these to be honest, they do the same thing basically. They're a bit more mac friendly than an xbox is though, for obvious reasons!
This device will connect to your TV and allow you to:
1. Stream Movies from your computer to your TV.
2. Stream Music from your computer to your TV.
3. Stream Pictures from your computer to your TV.
4. Stream Podcasts from your computer to your TV.
5. Stream TV Shows from your computer to your TV.
6. Stream Youtube to your TV via your internet connection.
7. Rent movies via your internet connection.
8. Store 40gb worth of movies/pics etc on it's hard drive.
9. I think that's about it.
Go here http://www.apple.com/uk/appletv/ for more info.

Play.com are selling it at £549.99
I still say this is a hotter deal than its rating given Digital Direct (who are usually one of the cheapest suppliers) have now announced their price and are asking for £780!!!
1080p 32" could be usefull if you sit close to the screen.
I've just put two and two together (and possibly made 5?)

Toshiba and Sharp announced an alliance whereby Toshiba would start releasing Sharp sourced panels didn't they? What's the chance this new 32XV is a decendant of the Sharp LC-32X20E?
Out of curiousity, whats the model number of the Sharp 32" 1080P? That definately slipped me by...

EDIT: Ouch! Found it, SHARP LC-32X20E selling for a rip off price in most places of £800+ They'll have to bring that down now that there's competition...
