not for dslr camera ?

humm, wouldn't recommend it, If I were to spend the amount you pay for a digital SLR I would go for something better quality :p

but this should be fine for a compact slr (I think that is what its called, like the Fujifilm s2000hd)

Nah, I'm pretty sure this is the compact camera model. I would go for one of the lager sizes for a dSLR - I have an original Gorillapod SLR zoom and it still sometimes struggles with a heavy lens (bough it before these knock-offs became available). Most reviews agree that these Chinese clones are alright but you need to make sure to get one that's more than strong enough for your camera.

I think this is just for light, compact cameras, you would need the bigger version for heavier DSLR cameras:

About six weeks if it's anything like last year. Hopefully they will have learned from their mistakes and it won't be so bad this time.

Wanted to get one of these over a year ago on DX and then they stopped selling - presumably due to copyright issues(?)

Good to see them back on there again. Might have to get one this time!

Thanks OP!

Wanted one of these. A steal at £3 even if it's a knock-off

sorry but these are so rubbish, I'd even feel ripped of paying £3 for mine, and I payed quite a bit more.

they are pretty much useless.

is it me or do these things look like sex toys?

I have one of these, from experience it doesnt work well for my Panasonic TZ3 because the screw in hole for tripods is towards the side of the camera and not the centre. This causes the camera to drop and bend the tripods legs (there not strong enough!). I am sure this tripod will work fine for those cameras with the screw in hole in the middle though...

I brought the DSLR one early last year and am VERY happy with it. Used it all through the summer and it's still going strong. I already had a real gorrilapod for my compact and this gives the official one a run for its money.

This is great timing I was about to but a gorilla pod yesterday!

Thanks, I'll give this one a go :)

Works for compacts only

I've got one of these and they're amazing. I've got a big one which I picked up from Shanghai - picked it up for about £1. Its BETTER than my Joby pad which I got for £14.99 a few months back.
