Luggage extra £60 for 20kg or £80 for 25kg

I was lucky enough to get the Phuket deal December 2016 and flew London Gatwick to Phuket for £219, Thomson flight was fine and included 2 meals. I stayed at a Guest House well outside of Phuket Town Tourist Areas at £20per night - one of my best holidays ever.

Any where you will get good deals with any hotels on the coastal areas... We just returned from there a week ago.

good value but a looong flight. Stayed at Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel in Port Louis - lovely hotel, had a motor boat that took you round the coast and dropped you off at weekends at one of the beach hotels, picking up late afternoon. Would love to go back.

Depending on what you want from your holiday, many 'resort' type hotels are fairly remote, but offer lots of facilities and activities. If you want to explore the island, Public transport is somewhat limited, if hiring a car some of the roads are narrow and basic, with no street lights or pavements, and a couple of feet drop at the edge to the sugar plantations alongside. Visitors often use Taxi's to get about, with set agreed 1\2 day costing approx £50. The northern part of the island is a little better for shopping, although it is not on a big scale, certainly St Louis is surprisingly small; the south has more attractions, I would suggest a two centre holiday to try the best of both worlds. I stayed on East coast for part of my stay and the winds prevented watersports for novices on some days. Not sure if west coast might be better for these. I also stayed south west and for me, this location was better as more attractions to hand. I did not see a lot of the East coast, so cannot comment on this. Great little island, shame about the flight time.
