Saw this while browsing Travelzoo - seems like a real bargain to me! Flights are 31/03/2011 to 07/04/2011 but have a look below or change dates as similar deals are available!

Flights are with Kuwait Airways, or if they arent too good pay the extra £9 and go with KLM, but for £270ish I thinks its a bargain either way!

Dont bother reading the random "review website"'s reviews, see below for good impartial reviews where people also take the time to document their good experiences and not only the bad ones:

KLM Reviews: http://www.airlinequality.com/Forum/klm.htm
Kuwait Reviews: http://www.airlinequality.com/Forum/kuwait.htm

Also please note: many carriers are doing similar flight sales at the moment, please see links below:

American Airlines:

* Manchester to New York... £318
* London Heathrow to Boston (direct)... £338
* London Heathrow to Miami... £368

Hope that helps somebody!

Just pay the extra £9 and go with KLM then! At this price it doesnt make a huge difference, as long as you get to the destination!

They don't seem much better ;)

KLM (usually operated by Delta to the US) have old planes and are pretty poor. But you will get there.

As with any airline the reviews will vary, the price is the overriding factor here... lets not start ripping the deal apart for a few reviews, im sure some people would be very happy with the service on either airlines... and remember - people who have a bad service are MUCH more likely to take the time to write a bad review rather than people who have had a good/average service!

Thanks mat297 ...

3 STAR RANKING: The 3 Star ranking signifies a "satisfactory" standard of core Product across most travel categories - but reflects poor or less consistent standards of Staff Service / Product quality in selected Onboard or Airport features.

(for the record I didn't vote cold btw!)

Rubbish, I happily pay a little extra to fly with a different carrier. Although I do agree about people mainly writing reviews when they've had a bad experience.

Like I said, rubbish. COLD

Never ever fails to amuse me - such immature behaviour and useless commenting on a public forum based around sharing information that may be useful to others - whatever makes some people feel good in life I suppose.

really good deal. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter who you fly with, as long as they get you their safely. Any money saved can be spent at the actual destination.

Some people talk some amount of **** in here sometimes.

KLM are magic, I have flown with them to New York and the plane was brand new, well had completed a few flights but still spanking new for a plane. And you'll find Northwestern are airline partners with them to the US, so even if you buy a ticket from them it might be Northwestern and their fleet is excellent.

Their service is excellent too, I have a good story on a flight home which involved me and a few Old Firm (Celtic/Rangers) players when they lost our luggage, not KLMs fault, Schipol airport I may add.

Anyway, this deal is during my birthday, so I'm gonna pay the extra £30+ quid and fly from Glasgow!

Cheers!

Northwest are now Delta (and have been since at least Jan 2010) and I flew just over a week ago with KLM (Delta operated) and of course on competitive routes they will try to use the latest aircraft but generally you're looking at old planes with poor facilities. Which is pretty much what you get from KLM/Air France on most routes out of Europe.

I agree some people talk some **** on here, you've proved that to me already.

Most people will have varying degrees of satisfaction with different airlines and of course that depends on how often they fly and the routes they choose.

Been to NY via delta and the service was rubbish, no inflight entertainment except for the the screens in the aisle. WOULD NOT USE KLM/DELTA AGAIN!!!

Don't know if virgin have 'cut corners ' recently, but flew with them to vegas & thought the inflight entertainment was rubbish compared with the last time i flew with them a few years ago ! ONE film viewing in ALL seats & NOTHING else. The food was good as ever but wondered if virgin are saving the pennies due to the recession that passed.

Kuwaite flight are dry flights i.e no alcoholic drinks

I think this is a really good deal but why do so many people use this forum to shout about things???
Confused me thinks!!!!

I don't come here for deals anymore it's become more about reading people bicker and **** each other off. I was thinking about monthly meetups. We could just fight in a barn somewhere. It would be really cool. At the end of the night we could drag people who had dared to post a deal that involved a poor review once into the centre of a ring and ritually humilate them.
#28
Sounds like at good plot for a film.

thanks this is a really good deal!

For the price a very good deal.

If you want more movies, drink or better quality seats then that is easy to get, pay up and fly business class, take your choice.

There should be some great deals shortly with Quantas flying on their A380's

Do people catch flights just to watch the films!? Buy yourself an ipod/psp/dsi/book and you have all the in-flight entertainment you need! Problem solved.
#33
glad people are actually benefitting from this deal - enjoy those of you who are booking!

Exactly what I was thinking. I've travelled with a few different airlines Edinburgh to New York and at the end of the day as long as they get me there and back safely and cheaply I couldn't give a hoot what film they were showing.

Great price OP - have some heat!

what prices are you getting from going from glasgow

If you're going to fly KLM/Delta then here's a tip. Join their frequent flyer program, it's usually free and I know for a fact that Delta (who operate US flights for KLM) are one of the airlines that overbook their flights heavily. The first thing they do when they have an overbooked flight and everyone turns up is upgrade their frequent flyers.

No guarantee of course but if you're not a frequent flyer then you have almost no chance. Worth the punt for a few minutes online.

Well only been to the US once this year so far and it as with United but last August I went with Delta from Edinburgh so any changes have been recent as suggested so calm yer jets with smart comments bawjaws.

Obviously I have been very lucky on my flights, I always get good planes and good service apart from American Airlines who are very punctual but their fleet is horrendous and you will not enjoy a long haul. I genuinely think it must be one of the oldest fleet around in regards to western airlines.

I fly frequently and it all comes down to price - I personally only fly KLM due to price, I always avoid Air France (same group) and BA. I normally will pay upto £75 more if i can find a better airline with good flying times. Remember Lufthansa flys this route but you will pay more for this.

The offer is not bad as its cheaper than a low cost carrier (Iceland Express).
