Nice... voted hot. One word of caution - the headline price is always cheap with Norwegian but if you wanna take almost any luggage they'll charge you. They allow 1 piece of 'hand baggage' on free as long as its less than 10KG (and who needs more than a pair of pants for a fortnight in the US). Otherwise its £25 for one, and amazingly £55 for two items of checked luggage - you'd have thought that purchasing more would earn you a discount... AND that is each way!

They are good but beware that you almost NEVER pay the headline price unless you are gonna live in your swimming gear (not likely in Boston in the winter)

From the website:

Hand Baggage is included. Each passenger can bring 1 piece free of charge. Maximum weight is 10 kg on LowFare tickets and 15 kg for Flex tickets. Maximum dimensions are 55 x 40 x 23 cm.
Checked Baggage is calculated per bag per flight. tickets that contain Flex, include 1 bag free of charge.
Checked baggage is limited to 2 pieces at maximum 20 kg each for each passenger. Additional checked and excess baggage will be charged extra.
If you wish to check in luggage, it's smart to purchase this in advance. You may save up to 50% when purchasing checked baggage online, over purchase at the airport.

Awful airline if things go wrong. Not sure I would want to trust them on a route where there is not much spare capacity (ie. Transatlantic).

Prices aren't that great compared to full service carriers when luggage is included either.

With the exception of Boston pretty much their usual pricing for the time of year.

Not sure this really warranted an alert.

Don't forget you don't get hold baggage, a meal or seat reservation. Fine for the European flights of course.

You can get their flights much cheaper out of Oslo or Stockholm, but means a cheap Ryanair flight there first!

Berlin from £55 return and Poland from £60 return? You can get return flights from Stansted for under half of that with Ryanair.

Just came back from Finland on Norwegian and it was a breeze! Did pay for check luggage (x2) because of long stay (& kids) but could easily do a week or more in two good-sized hand luggages if just two going. Highly recommended. Thanks OP! <3

I concur.

Knowing your flight has gone tech, then waiting 8 hours to cancel it (whilst people are actually stood in the check in queue) shows an incredible disdain for their customers. They refuse to acknowledge EC reg 261 either, meaning you'll need to go to court to retrieve costs. Google Norwegian Air compensation for some interesting reading, class actions etc.

You have been warned....

I flew with Norwegian to NY, have no complaints! Flying with them to Boston in Feb next year too :)

Terrible terrible airline - 7 hour delay on my flight to Oslo

Flew back from NY with them once and vowed to never fly with them again. Ended up getting some replacement plane and didn't get the seats we paid extra for as layout was different. Took months to get refund on the difference. Not amazingly cheap considering they are an awful airline.

Just come back from NY with my wife and 2 kids with Norwegian, and it was fab.

Modern android entertainment system, USB charger for your phone, computer, tablet etc. Nice seats.

Would definitely use them again.

Flew with these to Helsinki last December and was very impressed for a 'budget' airline. Free WiFi too!:)

Plane resembles dog on heat

They launched a service to Malaga from Manchester around June time....didn't even have enough of their own planes to cover it. Their online customer service can't even tell you the flight number of your rescheduled/cancelled flight. Onboard wifi didn't work. I could go on.......

this can happen to any airline, albeit some less than others. Ive flown with ba and had 2 days delay and 8 hours on Thomas cook, the latter even paid compo!

HOT!!

I jumped on this last time it was on, went with the missus to New York for about £250 each return! Plenty comfortable plane, avoid the food but other than that fantastic!

You've clearly not read the comments; Yes, anyone can get delays and yes, there are now EC directives to cover the payment of compensation but Norwegian don't abide by any of them.

That's the issue....and it's not a one off.

Heat- thanks! Fly with every time we come back to UK and around Scandanavia- never had a problem and the staff are fantastic if you have kids. Just saved over £100 on trip back! Also, if you can get cheap flights to Tromso- the northern lights there are fantastic- saw them the first week of Jan last year.

Weird. We've flown Norwegian loads of time. Find them to be a wonderful airline. Every flight every time has gone off perfectly on time, staff fantastic, app is excellent, even corrected a mistake on a booking for free when terms stated a fee was payable. Could not fault them.

Interesting to hear that a tiny minority have seen a Norwegian deal and decided to vent their own personal frustrations, but I can say hand on heart we've flown numerous times with Norwegian (Barcelona, Oslo, Tromso, Bergen, Copenhagen and others).

Regarding the luggage, we have the backpacks that exactly fit the hand luggage requirements and with four of us (2 adults 2 children) we can pack easily for any trip with access to washer/dryer.

Big thumbs up for Norwegian from us :)

7 hour delay - compensation will pay for the fare - free flight for only seven hours.... cool

Loved flying back Norwegian Air, from a music festival in Croatia over the summer. £29. Yes please. Only had a 9.5kg bag so it was all good. Massive thumbs up.

cannot recommend Trondheim enough if anybody is after a calming and beautiful break

5,000 people is minuscule if you consider there's around half a million people in the air at any one time.

So yeah, a tiny minority really.

Wow thanks for providing some data to support what I said! Fantastic job :)

26 millions passengers a year fly Norwegian so let's say that issue occurred in one quarter of the year, so I make it 5,000 passengers with an issue divided by 6,500,000 passengers travelling in the summer quarter (probably more actually due to uneven spread across the year), that's a 0.076% rate of passengers having this issue.

So thanks for providing the supporting evidence, I can see for sure now why you agree with me, 0.076% of passengers flying in that quarter having that issue is most definitely a "tiny minority" as I said.

Of course if you were one of those passengers you would be pretty miffed, but that's a binary situation and we can see now based on your data that almost no-one actually falls in to that group.

I have only ever experienced exceptional customer service from Norwegian.

I see Norwegian Air Customer service is alive and well this morning for once!!

That's the first and most recent article on google...there are plenty more if you care to look.....clearly some people think Norwegian are wonderful, so you won't.

Here's hoping that your flights are never cancelled or delayed due to 'extraordinary circumstances'.......

Google any airline in that way and you'll get the same result, a full page of customer complaints :) happy to be proven wrong :)
