It gets 4.3 out of 5 stars on Amazon.

Poor reviews regarding battery life with this unit on Amazon. Good price though.

Is this the one that was in the amazon Black Friday sale?

I have one of these. The battery life is crap, but the quality of the video it takes is superb. I have now taken to using standard rechargeables in mine, which means I can always have two spare fully charged batteries as a standby. If you want to take short good quality video clips this is the business, if you want to produce your own Hollywood epic look for something else.

The battery life is a real issue on this camera but it suffices for its purpose. I've recorded long concerts and taken it away on day trips and it has lasted BUT it only ever seems to charge to half full. Well worth it at this price though, it produces great picture quality and the unit itself has a really clean, chic look and feel. If you're contemplating it, I say GO, GO, GO!

Literally just bought the Ultra HD from amazon for £110, will cancel now

they seem to be really quick with the dispatch times these last few weeks

It does say that they are refurbished if you hover your cursor over the picture.
Would this matter?

It doesn't say that for me.

Below it says:

You can rely on about 40-50 minutes using the rechargables. The issue is no so much the recording time but the fact that the supplied battery pack only ever seems to half charge via USB. It is a known issue which the manufacturer does not seem to want to own up to.

How do these compare say to a camera on a Samsung Galaxy S? Not trying to start anything here but don't wanna waste my money either. :p

I'm personally not sure if im convinced this is a great "deal". Most of the complaints ive heard are that its relatively shakey if your trying to do any videos without it on a tripod. The new 3rd gen has image stabilistation and 720p @ 30fps.

And concidering the battery life talked about the 2gb will never be able to be used in one go without having to be charged. However, i do beleive that is case for most other cameras similar anyway.

Anyway, id say it would do the job for someone who hasnt had one, but i do think no image stabilisation is its fatal flaw.

Probably by sticking 999 of them in the basket and taking them through to checkout. It'll then tell you there aren't that many available.

Think you're confused, these have internal battery which you can't remove
#31
Ignore some of these comments - they obviously don't know the product. I took one recently on holiday to California and NO complaints. The stabilisation on the 3rd generation actually makes the video worse than the video on this 2nd generation - you don't need stabilisation on a portable product like this unless you're absailing down the Empire Trade centre. As for batteries - the life is fine. I charged it every 2 days but was using it virtually none-stop. The batteries are also built-in rechargeable - you can't add in your own AAA!! That's the other model. I would get this today - but i've already got one and paid £130 for the privelige!

Yes I managed to get from amazon for £50 during the black sleepless whole week,

Everyone who purchases this camera MAKE SURE you plug it in for a charge no less than 2 HOURS before even thinking of playing with it. When you plug it in for a charge eventually you ll see a red light saying it is charging, DO not try to turn it on just let it charge .......

So far I am very pleased with it, for £50 I can not really complain :) Hot from me at this price

Got one of these - likewise, battery life is an issue, approx 50 mins on a full charge (in my experience). Also, can suffer from freezing/crashing - if that happens, you can reset it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dov1ZufyYpM

Loads of youtube videos on how to reset your Mino HD....looks like a very common issue.

Sometimes just pressing in the minute reset button for 15 seconds does not work, you have to then put it in a high power USB port for at least 1/2hr before you see life.

Great camcorder for the price, amazing video (best in natural daylight) but be aware of battery life and the odd reset :)
