hot, just went to use our old camcorder and the battery was flat as always, so moment lost. This looks just the job ordered.
#13
anyone know how this compares to the Kodak ZX1 in terms of picture quality (indoor & outdoor)?? cheers for any info
banned#14
this might sound like a dumb question but which is the better one out of all these? Are these things really any good?
#15
Bought the Flip Ultra HD - at that price it's a bargain. Really looking forward to playing with it!!

Cheers OP
#16
dunno about ZX1, but Which? magazine have just given the only 2 Best Buy awards to Flip - one being the Ultra HD. Kodak Zi8 was rated but didn't do that well....

Superb price. I think i'll sell my Veho Kuzo and get Flip Ultra HD... :D

Are you sure that is wise? I googled this and there are thousands of people having serious problems with this flip. It overheats, support tells you to remove the batteries for 72 hours and then try again (something they claim needs to be done quite often), there is only a 3 month warranty on them...
I was going to jump in and grab one but with so many horror stories, I'm not going to bother now.

Dose this works with windows live messenger?

Wow, that's an incredible price for the Flip Ultra HD, considering I was looking at getting one for about £115 a couple of weeks ago...

Although, I have my heart set now on the Sony DSC-W350 at Argos for £134.99. Yes, it's a little under twice as much, but the Sony does record 720p video as well as being a 14MP camera. It's the best of both worlds.

Plus I want to capture PS3 footage, which requires a wide lens. From what I've seen on YouTube, the Flip kinda struggles in that regard...

Still very, very, very tempted, though...

Anyone else in the same boat as me?

Heat and Rep regardless.
#20
anyone got a link to decent video footage taken with one of these? every vid' I've looked at is awful - high def my ****
#21
Purchased, thanks for the advice, here's just hoping Im not landed with the dodgy battery problem which seems so common...
#22
Price for the HD looks to have gone up £10 since this was posted, £30 off RRP now.
#23
This is gonna get very hot!

Just ordered the Flip Ultra HD for the summer hols. Will replace my rarely used camcorder, which can't fit in your pocket.

Thanks for the heads up
#24
whats the difference or which is better? Flip Ultra or Flip Ultra HD...
#25
Thanks, just ordered the 8 Gb HD version for £69.99. Heat added

right guys/gals. Ive just checked out footage on You Tube, looks impressive yes! but the Gadget Show website say they could not recommend this over the Toshiba Camileo S10, which is FULL HD 1080P. (which has really good videos on youtube)
Also this costs £77 on Amazon and £80 @ Tesco direct, maybe cheaper with some codes. Verdict.? I need to buy something tonight, to recieve before my holiday this weekend.

3 month warranties are US. 12 month warranty is the law in the UK. Dunno about battery issue, seems there are a lot more happy people out there....hopefully I'll be one of them too when it arrives..... :-)

Brilliant find, thank you very much!

looks really pixellated to me...

Amazing price! Been looking for one of these for a while now, thanks!
#31
What is the camera facility like on these? Need to get some decent cameras for work, so camcorders will make them 'dual purpose!'
#32
Ordered the ultra HD, no idea what I will use it for though!
#33
£70 for a portable 720p recorder with decentish reviews at £130 - £150 hot from me.

Flip Mino High Definition Camcorder - 2nd Generation

Read the excellent review from 'Bill'.

Its £70 and you can stick it in the pocket you dont have to worry about losing it. Seems like a good deal to me.

I'm tempted too (by every blasted deal on here!). But resist. Go for the camera - as you said, you'll have the best of both worlds, including the wide angle you're after. Plus most importantly, you've got an optical zoom - admittedly not a lot - but at least you can use it while filming. Can't really see any advantage with these phone style camcorders without an optical zoom.

Flip footage does look kinda good though - certainly a hot deal if you're in the market for one

Great price. Ordered with the underwater case to take on holiday to film the kids in the pool etc. Wouldn't want to spend more than this as would be too worried about it getting nicked when we are camping.
