If the 'old dear' lives alone then buying 2 may well have resulted in one of them passing the sell by date before she got a chance to use it, so why waste 10p [you need to be 'old' to understand such a saving]?

Not everyone realises that spreads can be put in a freezer [assuming she has one].

If your going to eat margerine buy one that doesn't use hydrogenated oils which creates trans fats like Flora does.

Recent studies estimate that between 30,000 and 100,000 cardiac deaths per year in the United States are attributable to the consumption of trans fats. Because trans fat does to our arteries what grease does to kitchen sinks: it clogs them. What else trans fat does to our bodies?

* raise cholesterol
* Alzheimer’s disease
* diabetes
* cancer
* OBESITY
* liver dysfunction
* infertility

We call them saturated fats here.

By the way its the same deal for 'I can't believe it's not butter'(although I can) and the light version.
