ok n00b comment, what exactly does this do? Would it sort out my massive bumpy-as-heck garden and flatten it so I don't get sea-sick trying to mow it?

No. its mainly for airing your lawn so that grass grows easier. The blades do not go deep enough to turn the soil in order to flatten. hope this helps
Darn, thanks. Sorry for the off topic, but what the heck do I need then? :)

Bought one 5 years ago and still going strong. For ripping mosss out of your lawn and theres another set of blades the puts slits into the lawn to get air to the grass roots and improve surface drainage. Bargain compared to other machines out there.
The aerator should pull 'cores' out of the lawn to relieve compaction and to allow new grass to grow through.
Some people think you need to remove the cores but you can leave them as they break down and act as a top soil on the lawn, so all the nutrients will go back in to the ground.
The scarifier will get rid of the thatch and dried moss. If your moss hasn't been treated, your garden could look like a ploughed field.
And just like when you cut the grass, don't do it when it's too wet.
Lasted 2 days and did a great job before packing in. I'd have got another but non in stock at local shop. Rang customer service and asked if they could see if stock elsewhere, I may as well have not bothered as they're useless and would rather me spend my day driving round than for them to make a call. They wouldn't give me local branch phone numbers either. Hopeless.
Does exactly what it says on the tin
