Does anybody know where I can buy return tickets to Thailand for a bit cheaper??
    Freedom123
I can't find the deal posted here. Is there a direct link? All prices are £450+ that I can see for Hong Kong.

A bit off topic but does anyone know the cheapest company to get from lEngland to Australia (preferably sydney) in the latter half of August? I've looked at a few comparison engines but have been unable to find anything much better than £850 return... I don't mind flying to a different airport in europe first and then going from there.

You would be lucky to get £450, if you play around with your dates in Kayak you might manage somewhere around that on somewhere like Kuwait Air. Sometimes you get lucky, I got the deal on Etihad for £249 out of Geneva, return London that was posted here in May.but deals like that are few and far between. If you don't have specific plans sometimes late holiday deals are worth looking out for closer to the date.

£519 per person inc all taxes is the cheapest I can find flying any time in Oct from Heathrow for two weeks, either direct at Etihad.com or Ebookers or Opodo (all of which you can get a bit more discount with Quidco...)

or if you don't mind two stops and going from Gatwick you could try FlightCentre

And that flight shows the madness of airline ticketing; it goes via Paris & Hanoi but if you just want to fly to Hanoi without the BKK sector it works out about £250 more expensive oO . And for anyone thinking that's a cheaper way of visiting Vietnam by booking through to Bangkok but not flying the sector, it ain't so. If you don't complete a sector all subsequent flights are void.

Agreed it is madness, and a very useful tip regarding the voiding of follow on sectors...

A technique many travel agents use nowadays to generate call volume is to advertise a low fare which may only be available for 5 seats on a first come first served basis. They are then confronted with 1000's of calls in which case their sales agents then have the opportunity to fly them to another destination ..In the sales world we call this technique "switch selling" and its very effective.

AKA bait & switch (AKA fraud)
