Excellent phone for the money. Not going to buy myself as I prefer to spend a little bit more and get something better, but excellent price nonetheless.

I have a few mobiles locked to virgin. Would Virgin unlock them for free? If so, who should I call?

When I had this phone, you had to send a picture message before it could receive one - have you tried sending a message with it?

you ring 789 and tell them you've outlived the phones and want to recycle them by passing them onto members of your family. they'll try to charge you £15 but if you're outraged by their lack of "green ethics" and demand a manager you'll probably get the fee waived. this is how i managed it

This looks like a great phone, going to order a couple of these for me & the OH for xmas
#25
Quick question, how do we know it will work on Virgin?

I wouldn’t want to get anyone banned; after all they are just trying to warn people. I was just annoyed @ the time;-)

Because Virgin and Ikea piggyback on the T-mobile network. But Ikea will NOT work in a Virgin locked handset

I bought the last Fly phone on offer last week. Like the oither posters, it will not charge at all. I didn't realise Play's T and C's - so now I face sending it off to the manufacturer (probably going to cost a couple of quid), Real pain as it was bought as a present and won't be back in time.

Try this place, http://www.filesaveas.com/mms.html They have loads of info. I've used them before to get some GPRS settings for various carriers.

Although this phone comes with a T-Mobile sim it is actually unlocked which is good but unfortunately this means it's not set up to work with picture messaging and wap on T-Mobile. I like it seems many others phoned up T-Mobile but they have never heard of this phone and insist it has never officially been released on their network.

I decided to return this phone and phoned up Play and was given a return number because a phone that I couldn't send picture messages on or surf the mobile web with was no good to me but I was gutted that I was going to have to return it because I could see it was a good phone at a great price.

Well last night I searched the web for hours finding out everything I could about this phone(there wasn't a lot), and I managed to come come across a website listing generic settings for all the uk networks. I unpacked my Fly SLT100 which I was going to send back today and tried entering the settings and fantastically they worked. I've listed the settings below and if you follow what i've written and do it in order you're phone will be working too.

I had one hell of a job getting the settings but here you go. Before you set up mms you should set up wap first. Press menu and then scroll right until services comes up and select it. Select Data account which is number 3 on the list and select number 2 GPRS. Choose an account to edit and rename it T-Mobile MMS, APN = general.t-mobile, user name = user, password = one2one, Auth type is normal. Under services again click on wap and go to settings which is bottom on the list. Edit a Profile and rename it T-Mobile GPRS, Homepage = http://www.t-zones.co.uk/ account is the one you prevoiusly created so select T-Mobile MMS from the list, connection type is http, select it twice and you will see proxy address enter 149.254.201.132 and proxy port is 8080, user name = user and password = wap and then activate the T-Mobile GPRS profile you've just created.

Now come out of the services menu and scroll left till you come to message centre. Click on messages and scroll down to message settings which is bottom of the list and select multimedia settings. Choose edit profile and click on T-Mobile MMS which you previously created and edit it. Homepage = http://mmsc.t-mobile .co.uk:8002/ under data account select T-Mobile MMS from the list, connection type is HTTP and if you click on it twice you can enter the proxy address 149.254.201.135 and the proxy port is 8080, user name = user and password is one2one don't forget to save your settings and activate your profile and you're all done. By the way on T-Mobile you have to send a picture message first before you can receive them.

Another thing if you have a Virgin sim you can set it up to work with this phone without having to mess around with the settings yourself by going to the Virgin mobile website, click on the How Do I? tab near the top of the page and then select phone settings from the list on the left and choose the manufacturer Fly and selecting the model SX210 and entering your phone number and the settings will be sent to you. The Fly SX210 is the exact same phone as the FLY SLT100 they were just named differently in the UK to other countries.

Now that I've got all the functions on this phone working i'm very satisfied the only problem I have now is with bluetooth - I can bluetooth files from my phone to other phones but when I
bluetooth files from another phone to mine it fails every time. I'm sure it's something to do
with the settings maybe someone can help?
