This is a very good deal.

Manchester to Bogata Colombia £358 each

I'd add heat but it doesn't work for me
#2
Heat added (I think!) The bloody site keeps logging me out every 30 seconds!
#3
Please do add heat, this is my first posting, and I think it's a pretty good one- Brazil at Carnival time is incredible- esp. at £459 Rtn!!
#4
great deal :B

This is an amazing deal. I just booked return flights to Bogota from Heathrow next feb for £740 for both my girlfriend and myself. That is less than what it would normally cost for one of us.
Heat and Rep for you mate...

excellent deal, i work in the travel industry and know south america is one of the most expensive places to get to

What kind of holiday are people travelling out for? Activities? Relaxing? Does Bogota give you the best holiday options?
1 Like #8
Well as I said, we are going to the Carnival in Brazil- Rio and Recife/ Olinda. Will also be doing loads of watersports out there.

Amazing beaches, fantastic for surfing/ kitesurfing/ scuba diving.

What kind of holiday are you after? Best place to go depends on what you want really. Never been to Columbia or Venezuela, but I think any of those cheap locations would make an excellent holiday. Not sure Bogota really sticks out as being that much better than the others, it's just down to the individuals really.

How long are you going for and when? How will you get to Rio from Sao Paulo? Can Rio be the base for your entire break? Scuba, beach, excursions are the stuff I'm after. Always wanted to visit South America so this could be the time. Cheers
#10
I am going for 3 weeks- 1st- 21st March. Rio can be reached from Sao Paulo (Where the cheap flights go to) by air, Gol, TAM, VoeAzul, etc will all do you a return ticket for under £100. Flying time is about 1 hr each way.

Yeah you could easily spend weeks and weeks in Rio- Aside from the city, the state is huge and has it all- diving spots, surfing places, obv. miles and miles of beach, tons of attractions, and obv. amazing natural scenery.

Sao Paulo is cool too, and well worth spending a few days in. There are some great beaches away from the city, and the city itself is a real specatcle and you could easily spend a few days there too.

PS the carnival is much better in Recife/ Olinda- Rio is where all the tourists go ;)

Hi

I have booked as well. However a I'm a bit confused..

Do I have to apply for VISA or its given to me (tourist) when I get in Brazil?

Also what is the luggage allowance from London to Brazil (one stop)? If I I got it right, leaving from Brazil to London it is 32Kg but from London to Brazil is only 20Kg (due to the stop in Frankfurt)..

Last, vaccines? which one would I need? How to get this information? Cheers
#12
This is a truly fantastic offer and very surprised it's not a lot hotter than it is!

Otto- No you do not need to pre- apply. You will be granted a tourist visa at immigration in Brazil as long as you meet the immigration conditions (Same sort of thing as for going anywhere wrt. crimial records, etc)

From experience, I only required vaccines if going to the Amazon. There is no Malaria, dangerous diseases, etc away from the extreme North as far as I know.

NOTE I AM NOT A DOCTOR/ MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL AND THIS IS NOT MEDICAL ADVICE BUT BASED ON MY OWN EXPERIENCE- NOT TAKING VACCINES IS AT YOUR RISK. SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE BEFORE TRAVELLING

Hi Bes, thanks.. I checked with NHS Direct which gave this web address: Brazil Travel Health..

I've been looking for travel insurance.. From your own experience do you recommend any?

Well I dive, so I use 'Direct Travel Insurance', who cover things like emergency re compression, etc..

I did have to claim on them in January when TAP (Worst airline ever) left my suitcase in Lisbon when I was on my way to Salvador, and they paid up no problem, and were very good about it all. Definitely recommend. Use Quidco, etc. for discounts.

My Mrs is Colombian and although we're heading off to Bogota in a couple of weeks - she whipped out her CC to book these flights the moment I told her about it. I was dreaming of a nice cheap holiday in Spain next year, but OH NO we're off to Colombia again - Cheers Mate!

Still it's about £200-£500 less than normal, so heat added!
#20
I am also surprised this isn't hotter- I think many people just don't realise how good this deal is.... When I posted it, it was minus for quite a few hrs.

Oh well I am glad some people benefited.
#21
To be honest I don't think it's been seeing by many people. The deal was posted at the same time the website was going through some changes which distracted a lot of people. Unfortunately many people have missed it. It is shame.

Anyway, thank you Bes for this deal. ;)

darn i missed the offer to brazil!

I lived in Bogota for 6 months, following a year backpacking all south america. Colombia is a verrry cool country :D you got the caribbean, the andes, the amazon to the south, bogota is lively, with historic and modern parts... the parties are awesome and women are SCORCHING! :D

Been looking every day for months cheap flights to Bogota ...but where are they on thwe site??

note: Iberia were always usually the cheapest. I got home last November for £300, and returns weren't a lot more. I have been counting on the prices dropping again in the low season to these levels (flying from Madrid)

Good post well prersented and no recognition. Rubbish posts about discontinued junk still hitting 1000+. Totally unfair. Thanks

Just noticed that the highest rated travel deal for today is 68. Something wrong????

Brazil has a worse rep than Mexico for tourist kidnap and ransom and street crime targeting tourists.
Wouldn't go personally. Mexico though has the added problem that the police often are mates of the criminals !

Did this a few years ago myself, got 250 quid return tix to Natal with Thomson (they do a certain type of ticket that gives you 1 night of accomodation, try call centre) and we did Carnival at Olinda & Recife. These are two towns close to each other but have a very different feel. Recife is like Notting Hill, one massive street Carnival (but bigger and more fun!). Olinda is narrow streets almost on a hill, bit more chilled than Recife, as narrow streets reduce the scorching heat.

We considered going to Salvador or Rio, but were having too much fun (plus heard others were so expensive). Warning you will not get too much sleep on this trip, and the locals love to flirt!

Good, one less tourist to contend with.
#34
Saw this deal when it was originally posted but my mind was on something else so didn't really click. Oh well there's another year without going to watch Brazilian girls shake everything. Damn my distracted mind.
#35
Wow, stunning price!

if it wasn't for a wedding in mauritius I'd have booked bogota no sweat, can't wait to tge tto cartegena and the mud volcanoes

after travelling southern south america a few years ago every one i met raved on about colombia, so want to go.
ps. its not for the usual brits abroad stereotype.. you got to be adventurous
#37
Has anoyone been able to book this in the last week? Cheapest prices I'm seeing are from £615pp out of London.

Poor country in street crime shocker. Man who hasn't been dissuades others from going.

I've been 7 times - kidnapped each time. Don't go.

I can't understand how I missed this

I've been scanning the travel section regularly but nothing of interest to me has been showing

I know it's now late in the day but I'm another who can't see any flights that resemble the deal prices

I saw this deal when it was first posted but have never been able to find these prices!

I think it expired a long time ago unless i am looking at the wrong place?
