Flying Lanterns, also known as Chinese Flying Lanterns, will add an exciting new element to any event. Their mysterious glow can be seen climbing several miles in the sky for around 20 minutes. Flight ceases when all the fuel has been burnt and the flame subsides then as the air in the lantern cools it will gently float back to the ground for a safe landing. The Lanterns will fly to more than 1,000 meters in altitude, providing an amazing show for all.

Hand Crafted Authentic Chinese Flying Lanterns soar to new heights; you wont believe your eyes.

Made from flame resistant paper, it is 100% biodegradable; Night Glow Flying Lanterns are safe, fun and spectacular for any outdoor event, great at Barbecues etc.

The lantern measures 36 x 36 x 90cm when fully inflated.

Fuelled for 15-20 minutes of flying time.

Health and Safety

Never use Flying Lanterns in windy conditions.

Always keep water or fire extinguishers near by.

Always use in open spaces and never next to buildings.

Never attempt to use this product while consuming alcohol or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Good price, they work out about £1.60 each,
I've seen these in loads of places for anything between £2.50 and £5 each. A wedding I went to a month ago bought 150 of them and paid just under £500!!

They are quite impressive, so I can imagine a few of them would be a sight. Let one off on bonfire night (not this brand). It got more attention than the fireworks!

... just noticed the 10 pack is £14.23, so even cheaper!

I ordered these earlier today, alongwith a copy of Urban Hymns (my last one was used as a frisbee by my son!) - they're still £8.99 on Play!

Seen a few of these in the sky lately.

Had to laugh at the 'hand crafted authentic Chinese' bit in the description.

They are not 100% biodegradable, they have wire that holds the bottom in a circle and crosses over the middle to hold the fire cell on.

OMG! I watching some of these out of my window last night, were fab! Much more impressive than the fireworks that have been driving me crackers and these don't scare the animals. Bit worried about them hitting potentially flamable structures i.e Straw stacks though.... Great price for a good show!

Used to see hundreds of these go up at a time on the Loy Krathong fextivals in Thailand. They are a site to behold.

shouldn't worry, they will only come down when they have gone out. As long as you let them off clear of any hazard and not if its too windy

I have seen these in a £1 shop as well, so may want to check before you order.

Be carefull with the pound ones as I got a few of them and when you light them they drip drops of fire, like if you light a bit of plastic. As you set them off if you had it above your head before you let go, you could get a nasty burn. Apart from that they are no different from the play.com ones.
