Accommodation prices are still outrageous wherever you can get cheap flights to though.
Accommodation is just as expensive even when you get expensive flights!

This post is more like an advert... great headline prices but not easy to find a return deal, usual misleading ads from them

Flying short haul just book whoever is cheapest and has the most suitable departure times. I don't understand why people care so much unless it's long haul.
rickj
And monarch wonder why they were 24 hrs from going bust .

That's why I don't fly them.

Maybe you need to dream bigger :)

I don't think so. I think people get over excited about airlines. A two-hour flight to Mallorca (and back) on Monarch is far superior to the average rail trip to anywhere, these days.

Sure, it matters when you go long distance - and I draw the line at Ryanair - But £44/person to Palma without the usual friendly service on Easyjet, and I'm happy. Provided the hotel is as promised :3

Good prices but the holiday I've been dreaming of doesn't include flying Monarch! :D
Monarch are OK, and on a short flight, so long as it isn't Ryanair, what's to lose?

Maybe you need to dream bigger :)
The last I flew with monarch was the last time I will fly with monarch.... all the way to the maldives in cramped old plane, and the seat in front of me was broken so that it was fixed in the reclined position, I am sure it wasn't legal, the stewardess pretended to try and put it up obviously knowing previously it was broken and then did absolutely nothing

I think visa debit it has to be over £100......(it used to be )......mastercard dont have that rule.

Just checked the rules - apparently, Mastercard it is minimum £10, Visa and Maestro no minimum. For chargeback - bank liable under internal rules.
However credit cards you must spend over £100 for the goods/service and as long as 1p is on the card they are liable for the lot strangely. Thats under section 75 i.e card company liable.
Details

So if you are booking over £100 worth, use your credit card not your debit as it should be easier to claim.

£35 to fly out £335 to fly back rip off

I've noticed this trend with other airlines too ...... another trick by cheap airlines
£35 to fly out £335 to fly back rip off
Had a 17 hour delay flying from Manchester a few years ago, which was poorly communicated, and later e-mails to them to claim compensation, resulted in them blaming their handling agents at the airport for the poor communication. Eventually got them to agree to compensation following the outcome of cases that went to the European Court of Appeal, but only after I re-submitted my claim. I vowed never to fly with them again, and that still stands.:|

Are there any weekend breaks? All im finding is week long holidays....

For the moaning parents out there. Your time will come. We've all been through the high priced holidays. It's not going to change.
But for us older generation, or those yet to have a family, this is a cracking bargain and MOST appreciated! So, Thank you. I'll soon be off on my jollies... Yay!

Yup , and now I want to take the Grandchildren on holiday lol , we are not moaning about having kids , it is about the greed of the travel companies as it does not only go up by a little bit but pretty much double the usual cost , or more , for the whole party which does make it expensive for families to travel , not impossible for many but expensive YES , but it does make you thankful if you can even manage it
Waste of time! We go to Malaga regularly and the combination of outward and return make it impossible to get any of these deals. Finding both legs at £35 is about a likely as England winning the Euros. I tried all kinds of combinations is September and couldn't get close to the'offer'. This is just a scam to suck you into their website so they can charge you more than the headline offer.

That's funny how blackout dates are school holidays.
Penalised for having kids yet again.

Good, keep up the advice, aslong as you lot are put off, the prices will drop all the more. I have just returned from naama bay and not a single person over there shared these concerns. Terrorism is a threat no matter where you go in the world, the biggest targets being major cities such as New York, London and Paris, so does that mean your never going to step foot in these areas too?
I hope for your sake that nothing happens, im sure that the government gives out warning for no reason.... how freking stupid.. I hoppe its you over there when something does go off, keep up the good postings
Get yourself a life son. If you check properly you will see there is no warning against travelling to sharm el sheikh, your just coming up with pathetic and useless comments without having any true knowledge of the situation, and stating 'I hoppe its you over there when something does go off', are you insinuating that you know of an attack which is going to take place? As if so then I advise that you contact your local authority rather then posting on here

Norwegian use the 787 Dreamliner too. I had two very pleasant flights with them to Fort Lauderdale. Yes, you'd need the food and luggage package (I don't know how Monarch charge) but I'd far rather fly Norwegian than Monarch. The staff were lovely and very professional despite a medical emergency in their galley and a diversion. Voted hot.
Thomson Dreamliner flights for end of August are under £300 return
Can anyone confirm if this offer is still available? I can't find it.

Just came back from Ibiza yesterday. We flew from East midlands. Flight times much more suitable for families. Not sure how much for those dates though. Temp was mid to high 30's all week so best of luck in August!

It seems flights are around £180pp in August from EMA. I guess it depends on if your budget will stretch. An additional £80pp for a family of four quickly adds up compared to less than £100pp.

jeez. . might be dead by then lol..
Please think before you book this hotel. We stayed here a few years ago and we would never go back. The bad reviews on trip advisor are correct. We didn't go expecting the Ritz but this place is truly awful. Definitely not a 3 star hotel.
Great deal but way too cold in late March for swimming or even sunbathing
HOT HOT HOT ! Top deal , great hotels (different
apartment blocks). Been there twice, entertainment good too. Plenty of pools for the kids, plenty of food choice and close to airport so no long transfers ! x :)
You don't have to book this hotel. Their were self catering options much cheaper and better hotels more expensive. Overall the hotel was rated 3/5 on TripAdvisor, but you can change options to suit. Given its school holidays (for some) and Easter it does seem to be pretty good value for this period. Many families are limited to half term dates so don't have a choice. But you can pick a different hotel, you don't have to have this one.

There is some amazing scenery and so many activities too. You can even get the train to Venice. There is so much to do I'd go back in a heartbeat!

I can't figure out how you made this so cheap. We are looking for a holiday for the two of us and our 1yr old and I get flights coming out at £500 :/
Will have to try on a PC and do it properly, looks like a great place. I've been to the area on business before, really stunning!

Just checked on my mobile for you and those same dates for 2 adults and 1 infant is £239.96. Are you searching the same dates? If you don't need those particular dates or school holiday there are even cheaper flights.

Ah, my friend was in Derbyshire so that's probably why it fit their school holidays!

I'm in Derbyshire as well, however my daughter is planning to go to a Nottinghamshire college in September otherwise I might well have been interested.

Orlando in Florida is amazing but go in a decent month like June onwards ! The water parks are open longer and the weather is amazing..
Very old thread but this is wrong. March is one of the best months to visit. Busiest time at Disney is Xmas, followed by Easter and Spring Break weeks so avoid them. I'm off in August which I certainly wouldn't have been doing had my kids not been in School. From experience (15 plus trips to Florida) best time is March, late October or November. Jan and Feb also excellent choices. Avoid July.If you have to go August go second half. A lot of US schools go back third week in August. Park busyness reduces 25%. For those going back to Florida, try a week down tge Gulf coast- would particulary recommend the Naples/ Fort Myers/ Sanibel areas. Like the caribbean but with US standards of shops, amenities. Naples is richest city in US per capita, and it shows, its stunning. Shame to stay 2 weeks in Orlando after you have seen all the parks before.

Looks like this deal is live, I searched a date in June and the half price disney tickets came up, £144.50 per adult for 14 days, univeral were £125 each, about £1080 for both places for four people, cheap ticket sellers are charging £1580, so it's a genuine deal, saving £500 for a family of 4.

Eeek, Monarch...
Pretty cr4ppy airline.
If you're any taller than 188cm and bigger than a 38 waist, you'll have a bad flight.
If your waist is bigger than 38", get some self respect and drag your excess pounds round the block a few times.

191cm. with a bmi of around 20%. I can run a 7 minute mile.

Have a look at yourself.... not everyone has an eating disorder like you. :)

June to August are the wettest months in Orlando.
April/May would be my preferred months weather-wise.
10am-5/6pm is also long enough for me, plenty of other things do do afterwards.

14 day disney tickets are a rip off. Buy what you need off the usa sites like ' 4 park water fun and more ' and make vast savings
can you send me the link to this site please?
I'm currently looking at tickets but there is very little price difference with UK sites.
I got mine from undercover tourist. Possibly not a huge saving just now with the dollar being at 1.5. If your researching then I'm sure you'll be fine, just don't buy the 14 days, usually advertised as buy 7 for the price of 14! Not a lot of people will visit any park more than 1 day so just buy what you need, that's why the parks plus water parks tickets are good. Disney quest is amazing which is included as a day : )

OK thanks, not tried undercover tourist yet so will check it out. The disney 7 day/14 days (for 7) tickets are exclusive to the UK with very few other durations offered by UK sites. I checked some american sites to get base 1-7 day tickets but the price is very close to the 7 day ticket anyway (possible exchange rate affect).

I have a 3 year old boy so some parks have less attractions for him than others, at the end of the day it's all good value when you think of the fun I will have....I mean the fun he will have.

I would recommend the 4 day water park fun and more which is $357. £40 cheaper than disney site and you get 2 extra fun visits. Unless you really think you will visit more than 4 days to the disney parks then no need getting that ticket. As you said it's uk only because we get ripped off with no choice like the us sites. By the way undercover tourist send them from the uk so shouldn't be a problem. My one had an edinburgh postage mark! Other site to check is ticket momma a

We fly with monarch all time the as they are nearly always the cheapest airline for where we want to go, that said having used them extensively in the last few years I can tell you that their so called sales are always tripe, I've never once saved money in a sale as the dates and destinations are never at peak times or to popular places which is when and where anyone with school children want to go.
when i looked in December for flights was £45 cheaper than now so where's the sale
worst Web site ever
No flight anywhere near me, so tried Manchester to Alicante - 200 pound return plus travel to Manchester !
Great deal if you live near one of their airports and they fly somewhere you like, but with limited destinations no good to me.
